Long Beach is not the only place in Washington Coast worth experiencing; those with enough time should also head off and experience the special qualities of the nearby landscapes, cities and cultural attractions. Two places in the vicinity of Long Beach are Gearhart, 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the north, and Seaside, 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the north.
Astoria is 16 miles (26 kilometers) from Long Beach. This regional center includes a number of interesting things to do and see, like Astoria Aquatic Center, Fort Stevens State Park and Fort Clatsop National Memorial. Make sure you don't rush back to Long Beach until you've investigated Astoria's Lewis and Clark National Historical Park, Heritage Museum and Astoria Column.
