Cons: Have a restaurant to eat at night!
Location: a Dunkin Donut about four blocks
We had a great time. Breakfast was excellent. The only con is there were not restaurants around the hotel. But we eat before we came in to sleep. Subway about 100 yards away that made it very easy Great I will recommend the hotel 100%

Convenient, AffordablePosted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: Breakfast was ok, but could have been better. Would have liked some potatoes or something.
Location: Close to several train stations with access to all major parts of the city. Many restaurants and stores nearby. Street parking was easy to find.
This was a nice alternative to the really expensive hotels directly in Manhattan. Astoria is very convenient because we were a short walk from several major subway lines, and just a quick hop into the city on the train. We were also able to park the car, and drive into Queens easily to visit some friends who live out in Bayside. The hotel was cute, modern, very clean and up to date and comfortable. Breakfast was decent--bagels, waffles, bananas, eggs and sausage. Wifi connection worked fine.

Great LocationPosted Oct 31, 2013
Great Location for convenience. Knock 100 bucks off a Manhattan room but you're right back in Mid-Town in 10 minutes on the subway. Queens Plaza station and 39th Station are both a couple of blocks away. Even easy to get to JFK on Subway/Airtrain. Hotel is nice, clean, room was larger than others i have used in the area. Overall, nice alternative to Mid-Town pricing.

Clean, Safe, Awesome Staff!Posted Oct 30, 2013
Pros: Staff, clean, breakfast.
Cons: Better lighting to and from hotel to the Queens Plaza subway station.
Location: Not a lot of places to see around the hotel itself. However, Astoria is nearby with tons of ethnic restaurant choices.
If you are looking for a hotel in a great location, look no further. My wife and I travel frequently and found the staff of this hotel very accommodating. The room and bathroom were extremely clean and modern. Breakfast was plentiful and varied.

Very nice hotel close to mid-town.Posted Oct 30, 2013
My husband and I, former New Yorkers, were very happy with our stay at this hotel. The room was very comfortable and the staff extremely helpful. The complimentary breakfast was surprisingly very good. All in all we were very happy with the accommodations for the price and would stay again.

we had a great time. The staff were wonderful.Posted Oct 28, 2013
We met friends in Manhattan but it is too expensive to stay there. This was an excellent alternative. We were very close to the subway system. It was a great experience(learning and otherwise).

October a great time to visit NYCPosted Oct 26, 2013
Pros: Staff were very helpful Close to subway lines Beds and room were comfortable
Cons: Breakfast was promptly removed at 9am or 10am and selection was limited near these times; the last 30mins seemed to be the busiest (plan accordingly)
Location: LGA was fairly simple to get to and from; $2.50 metro vs $30 for a taxi. No safety issues walking from the subway at night, but limited nearby stores
We stayed here for 5 nights, mainly due to relative value (as we couldn't find a hotel in Manhattan for under $230). The location in Queens turned out to be a good place to access Brooklyn and Manhattan, but lacked nearby convenience stores or restaurants. We were aware of this in advance and planned our day/night trips with that in mind. The hotel does have a bar and snack store for some items if required. We purchased a weekly metro card for $31 and used the subway/buses to get everywhere. We found it very easy and timely to get around the city; 10 mins to get to Times Square, 40 mins to get to Battery Park in rush hour. The hotel staff were very helpful in assisting with navigation issues and knowledge of attractions. Hotel rooms/bed were very comfortable and clean. We stayed on the 6th floor and could barely hear the nearby above-ground subway line and wasn't as bad as others had made it sound. We would stay here again, if we couldn't find a reasonable priced hotel near Times Square (since we spent most of our time in the Theatre District).
