Major construction

Posted Apr 24, 2015
Pros: location
Cons: It needs a major facelift and a ventilation system to remove horrible cooking smell
Location: TESTACCIO RISTORANTE was great, hotel shuttle was convenient and also reliable.
Poorly managed construction going on. Took me three drives around the block to find the entrance. Free paging = street parking.

The hotel might be okay once the renovations are complete. For the time being, however, it's kind of a mess. Also, they put me on the first floor even though the hotel was clearly far from full. Being on street level in Queens is not a good thing.

Nice hotel. Excellent view.

Pros: Shuttle bus service was great!
Cons: Lightening in bathroom was very dim.
Location: Nice restaurants, ease of trained stations to go into city.
The staff was friendly and very helpful. They had a free shuttle to local area and subway locations which was very useful. The hotel was under construction because of an expansion to the hotel. The hotel is probably geared for a younger hipper crowd then my 2 teenagers and myself. The rooms have wine, vodka, and many types of liquor on the dressers for purchase and a minibar. We would definately stay again when renovation is completed.

Very, very noisy

Posted Apr 7, 2015
The hotel is currently doing a huge construction project in out their courtyard area. My wife and I stayed there on a Tuesday night and Wednesday morning THEY STARTED JACKHAMMERING AT 0700 IN THE MORNING. The jackhammering was right outside our room and it sounded like he was jackhammering my pillow. When I complained to the front desk they barely apologized and said the best they could do was change our room. THEY MOVED US ONE FLOOR UP DIEECTLY ABOVE THE JACKHAMMERING. It was still super loud and we could not get any sleep. I understand that they have to get their construction done, but to start at 0700 am seems rediculous to me. If you are looking to sleep in past 7 o'clock, then Ravel Hotel is not for you.

Oke hotel in Queens

Posted Mar 6, 2015
Pros: Nice view of New York's skyline from the top floor.
Cons: Total state of hotel room could be better, mostly small thing. Its the finishing touch that has to be done.
We stayed in this hotel at the end of February 2015. This is not a real bad hotel, main conclusion is that the same hotel probably can be found on Manhattan too. At our first room the ice cube machine was so loud we complained. The guy at the reception didn't discussed and gave us a new room (including a free upgrade). If you are not too picky you can stay here. The breakfast is typically american, you will be very disappointed if you expect an full European breakfast. The rooms were not too special, if you need just a place to sleep its oke, basic not luxury. Hotel is about 10 minutes walk to the subway. Although we didn't felt unsafe I wouldn't let my daughter walk there at night. From subway to Hotel is along a industrial area and the road to Manhattan, not really pretty. Below expectation

No way this can be a 4 star hotel. Staff was not accommodating. Very noisy even at 4 AM on Sat due to the rooftop bar. View from the bar was great though.

Do not stay on the weekends

Posted Feb 16, 2015
No heat. No hot water and no parking The club on the rooftop dystroid this hotel. There's bouncers and very shady people floating around the hotel. No parking at all.
