Good basic hotel. The staff were good.

Posted Oct 27, 2014
Pros: The location and the staff
Cons: Room maintenance.
The hotel staff were quite gracious. They had good bagels for breakfast and the coffee was good too. The room had a leaky faucet, the toilet stopped up quite often and the drapes did not close. Definitely room for improvement, but it was a good value for the area.

not my first choice

Posted Oct 17, 2014
Pros: The hotel was clean and the coffee was good in the morning
Cons: The continental breakfast could have more fresh fruit.
Location: The subway was nearby, about a 10 minute walk. They do have a shuttle we did not know about but just ask and they will take you there.
This hotel was not my first choice but we were limited in the area in which we needed. The hotel staff was friendly and the continental breakfast was okay. Gary was very helpful. The beds were comfortable but could use an upgrade on the pillows. Overall I would recommend this hotel. Be mindful when you ask for a cab...they call for you and it was very expensive. it seem the hotel gets a cut when they call some one familiar. Not nice! The young woman at the desk did not mention anything about this and we did ask for a cab! A 15 minute ride from the hotel to our destination was $35.00 US. A cab the previous night from our destination to the hotel $19.50 US.

Basic Hotel for NYC

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Basic hotel if you are going to visit nyc and just need a place to sleep at night. Room had a musty smell. Breakfast was limited. 10 minute walk to the subway. Overall this was a 2 star hotel with nothing to brag about.

Pros: The Front desk staff gave us the room 2 hours earlier than the actual check in time as we reached the hotel around noon time.
Cons: Equipments in the rooms must be checked
Location: far away - from public transport. no shuttle available as promised
Room was too small for four people(2 double beds). hardly any space to move around. Couldn't open the closet as the handle was missing. Reported the problem but no action was taken. No shuttle to the subway station was available as published. Whenever we asked one or other excuse was given such as no driver, vehicle breakdown... very strong smell of cleaning chemicals - bleach, was there for hours

Basic Comfort

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Breakfast arrangements
Location: Long Island City has a wealth of good restaurants and is in easy proximity to Manhattan by subway.
This hotel offers basic comfort. Its best asset is its friendly, helpful staff. Its biggest weakness is its breakfast service, offering a range of filling carbohydrates in a dining area too small to accommodate its guests. It's located in a predominantly residential area and is near enough the subway to make travelling to Manhattan fairly straightforward. Ask for a room without a view, as the front of the hotel overlooks a very busy highway with a substantial cemetery beyond it while the back of the hotel overlooks a quiet, clean alleyway and parking area.

Average hotel situated close to mass transit

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: Close to mass transit - about 6 blks from No. 7 subway which gave you quick access to other subways, buses, downtown & also close to numerous eateries
Cons: Dayshift front desk service.
Location: Easily get to No.7 subway and from there get to other subways and numerous buses & got to LaGuardia airport easily, quickly and cheaply via subway/bus

Standard hotel in Queens

Posted Sep 15, 2014
It was in a safe area of Queens about 5 miles outside of Manhattan in Long Island. We walked about 7 blocks to the subway and rode into NYC daily! The people at the desk were extremely friendly and helpful. It rained one day and they had a shuttle to subway until 7pm.

Shuttle drivers were nice and helpful! Hard bed. Had to ask everyday for towels and wash clothes. Last day No one cleaned our room. Only good thing was the refrigerator and microwave!
