Hilton Garden Inn Westbury

Room was quite nice and had a window that opened, always a plus in my opinion; it was a pleasant night and we were happy to enjoy some fresh air. Needed a convenient place to stay before the Belmont Stakes and this worked. Staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in was fast and easy, which I was grateful for after a 5 hour drive. Ordered a salad for dinner from the bar, which was fine.

Check in horrendous.took half hour to check in. Gave us difficult time with credit card for room deposit. When we checked in to room we found a welcome letter to the last guest! This hotel charges for EVERYTHING, nothing complimentary. After finishing continental breakfast, waitress approached and asked if we wanted it charged to our room! Indoor pool warm but water pools dangerously and my kids fell (not running either) hot tub ok but jets weren't working. Not the best but it worked. Staying at Hyatt. Next time, staff attentive and rooms etc, better.

Consistent with Hilton Garden Inns, this facility provided all the amenities I've come to expect, including an indoor pool and spa, workout room with eliptical machine and treadmills, a 24 hour stocked pantry (very limited supplies, however) and a convenient restaurant and bar. The restaurant offers breakfast (guests must purchase) and dinner but no lunch service. The bartender was fabulous -- attentive and knowledgeable without being overly present. Only thing I wish they hadn't skimped by not including shower gel in the room amenities. I took a king junior suite, which was comfortable, good sized; had two flat screen TVs and a bed that was adjustable from soft to firm. One other great addition was the Nathan's right across the street!

Whirlpool was broke! Had to wait 45 minutes to check in. No complimentary breakfast.
