Pleasant Surprise

Posted Jul 25, 2015
Pros: I truly liked everything about the hotel. It's ambiance, staff and energy were all great.
Cons: I think that considering the entire hotel is so nice, the "spa" can use a face lift.
We booked a room last minute at La Quinta and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Guest were sitting in the beautiful lobby socializing and other guests were sitting outside enjoy the evening. Our room was spacious and bed was very comfortable. AC was ice cold and bathroom was immaculate.

Pros: See above.
Cons: See above.

This facility provided everything we needed. The room was comfortable and clean. The front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful. The shuttle to the airport and, more particularly, to the train depot was particularly helpful. We chose not to partake of the free breakfasts for personal reasons. It would have been nice, however, to have coffee available in the lobby throughout the day. Most hotels of this caliber do have coffee in the lobby and we were quite surprised not to find it here. Overall we rate this hotel at 4.5 on a scale of 1 to 5. we'll stay here again if the opportunity presents itself.

Hotel staff was nice, and rooms were clean. Only problem was that breakfast was completely cleaned up by 9:30 not 10 like they said, too early!

ok place to stay.

Pros: Just ok.
Cons: Lower the prices. better cleaning up.
Location: N/A
For our needs for the evening, it was ok. Overpriced, however. Had a couple dust balls left on the walls. Just your basic cable stations. Usual, standard fare @ breakfast. It's an ok place to stay.

Nice hotel, very accommodating for pets

Posted Jun 23, 2015
Location: Sayville was very nice town to walk-around and sit on the beach.
Front desk staff was very helpful in finding a place to walk the dog, and also helpful to store a tray of food in hotel fridge before we were to bring to an event that evening. Room clean was great upon arrival and day following! Quiet - which was appreciated! Breakfast was nice addition - and when toaster stopped working staff was quick to replace.

Late Check In

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: A couple of the staff members appeared to work diligently and the hotel looked generally clean.
Cons: Provide adequate staff and a manager that cares and follows up on problems.
Location: The hotel was pretty far away from everything, as far as I know.
The hotel was understaffed so rooms were not cleaned in time to honor our check-in time. We waited about an hour and 20 minutes. Once my son and I got to our room, I unfolded the sofa bed to prep it for bedtime. My son sat on the sofa bed mattress and promptly fell through the bed to the floor. I helped him up, pulled back the mattress and found that the supporting mesh base, springs, and surrounding structure of the sofa bed was severely damaged. I find it impossible to believe that the cleaning staff could change linens on the sofa bed and not see how dysfunctional the bed was. Either they didn't change it, or they ignored the damage. There were no other rooms to move to as the hotel was reportedly full. They provided an air mattress that my son was forced to sleep on. I was assured that management would contact me about this problem but I was never contacted. In addition, one of the two elevators in the hotel became inoperable while we were there. A note was placed on the first floor to inform guests but no such notes were place on the elevator doors on other floors. Guests continued to wait for elevators on the other floors, uninformed of the broken elevators. This hotel is POORLY managed.

Great place!

Posted Jun 21, 2015
I was quite surprised that the pictures online didn't look as good as the hotel in person. It was one of my last choices because everything else was booked around the area. But I was quite surprised at how nice and clean it was. The front desk staff (1 person) was very friendly and helpful. Definitely will stay again! Ok, maybe one little issue. I think there was some sort of lacrosse thing going on and a lot of teeny boppers running around...being inconsiderate of others and rude. But otherwise the stay was nice.
