“Nice hotel, staff was very eager to help and make my stay comfortable.”
The staff was very friendly and anxious to help. When I arrived, they graciously upgraded me to a room facing the water at no extra cost. The room did not smell very fresh, yet it seemed to have been thoroughly cleaned. The restaurant was delicious and not terribly expensive. We ate the prix fixe dinner and it was 4 star restaurant quality. It was not near the center of town, but it was off season with no traffic and it took us five minutes to drive into town.
“to the lighthouse”
good rate for off season. room had very low lighting. nice view. comfortable bed. staff was pleasant. not far from lighthouse and from town center
“Get Away From It All on theTip of Long Island”
Our second floor room was spacious with a very convenient layout. Wider than most rooms, it felt even larger because of the large sliding glass doors out onto a medium sized balcony with a view of the harbor. Large closet with dressing room area and separate sink allows for one person to dress while the other takes a shower. Although hotel was probably built in the 60s, it has been tastefully updated and was very clean. The pool was clean and large, heated towels were provided. Gym facilities were very good with room to stretch. Dinner at Hurricane Alley was very fresh and service was good. Breakfast was abundant with lots of options, fresh fruit, croissants and muffins, eggs, sausage, bacon, roasted potatoes, fresh squeezed juice, good coffee. Nice setting overlooking the water. Staff was exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Overall, it was just what the doctor ordered, a relaxing getaway for two.
“post season beach trip”
We came to the hotel post Labor Day weekend. The staff was courteous and helpful. As our stay progressed we began to feel the "post-season" cut backs from the hotel. Pools are not heated, and are not open all the time. The game room is kind of sad. The food was very good. The beds are comfortable. The private beach is not great. That being said, the rooms were nice, clean, comfortable. Beds and linens are good. This was not a 4 star experience, and we would have been very frustrated if we were paying "in-season" prices. Also the hotel is a hike to the main beaches. The bonus is that the hotel is dog friendly.
“Terrible experience - never again”
At the level of price, the service is just a disaster... Please do not go there.
“Awesome!”
Definitely going back! They even upgraded my room without me asking to a room with a balcony overlooking the water. The hotel restaurant was delicous and I am usually hesitant because it seems like most of the time the restaurant at the hotel is gross. And I was able to bring my dog!! Beautiful, cool decor and the people were super friendly too.
“Good off-season hotel”
Enjoyed our stay even though most establishments were closed during off-season. Those that were open were not crowded and the weather was warm enough for walking around and beach going.
“Front desk service ruined an otherwise positive experience”
The front desk is unprofessional, but the property is beautiful and the restaurant is great. There was apparently a mix-up with rooms. After we were taken to our room and settled in (with baby asleep, at a quarter past midnight!), the very person who showed us to our room came back and tried to enter unsuccessfully for 5 minutes before knocking on the door. When I opened it, he began to explain to me that there was a problem with our being in the room, then backed down when he saw the angry look on my face. In their defense, it was the first week they were open, and the hotel restaurant manager went above and beyond to help us get a meal to our room. I hope the front desk can get their act together because this is a really nice place otherwise.
“Very satisfied”
Our room was awesome with an amazing terrace and access to a small beach! Very cute swimming pool too. Def a great place to get away from the city and just relax and enjoy. We went off season, and the place was still great, without the crowds and we got an amazing deal.
