Lovely, old, converted villa on the port.

Pros: The staff was impeccable: warm, helpful, courteous, discreet.
Location: Three beaches: the most beautiful, accessible by golf cart, is the most popular. The port's is family-friendly, and the third, rocky and rugged.
Everything: terrace with restaurant overlooking the port, the water shaded from turquoise to marine blue, plus a garden in back and a pool. A good range of good restaurants along the waterfront. It's a pedestrian island, so especially tranquil. Loved it.

Villa Vilina, Lopud Island

Posted May 20, 2013
We had a wonderful experience at Villa Vilina, and we wished we'd planned to stay longer. Villa Vilina is a lovely little hotel in a great location, steps from the harbour and with a great view over the village, the water, and the clock tower. The beautiful terrace and outdoor bar is a fabulous setting in which to enjoy a meal or a drink and the view. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a modern, clean bathroom and good towels. The pool is well maintained, with a really nice deck area, quietly situated behind the hotel and with a lovely view. The hospitality and service couldn't have been better.

Not impressed

Posted Sep 23, 2010
The hotel was boring and stuffy, and suitable for undiscriminating guests. The service was lacklustre and not particularly friendly, and there were many things that needed attention or repairing, like a wall light on the stairs, and the lock on the shower pole was absent. The garden could have been wonderful, but it was untidy with broken toys littering it, and it was clearly unloved. The pool was fine, but there was no changing room nearby, and there was no fresh water shower. The food in the dining room was boring also.
