Wonderful staff, nice atmosphere

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Stayed several nights, was especially impressed with the staff who were extremely helpful. Nice atmosphere, avoids the trendiness of many boutique hotels or the over-the-top luxury of some other places in Beverly Hills, while still having great design and being extremely comfortable.

Great hotel!

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: everything! Price, comfort and the customer service is wonderful!
Cons: nothing.
Location: great shops nearby Rodeo dr. Everything is walking distance from hotel shops and restaurants.
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience at the Avalon hotel. The staff was helpful and courteous! Awesome customer service the minute you walk thru the door. Alessandro was very nice he showed us around the hotel and made are stay great! It was my bday so the staff brought up a fruit basquet and a bottle of wine which I thought was very nice! I will stay here for sure next time!

Good choice close to Century City

Posted Jun 27, 2014
A comfortable room with excellent staff and service for our two day stay. Requested a second chair for the room and it was supplied immediately. Valet parking services are excellent, a must in LA. We did not try the restaurant, too many choices nearby. Room has a safe but will not accommodate a laptop or iPad.

Too many things went wrong and a very old hotel

Posted Jun 15, 2014
My room's bath room had sush a bad smell that I had to request to change my room. Manager said no room of similar type was available so the only option he offered was for me to pay $100 extra per night to stay at a very inconvenient room that they wanted to call the Penthouse!. They also made mistakes and overcharged my credit card. I was quite disappointed and will not return to this hotel.

Nice Hotel , close to Rodeo Drive

Posted Jun 4, 2014
Pros: Staff was exceptional.
Cons: Elevator way too slow.
Location: Walking distance to the golden triangle of shopping
We stayed in an annexe, and old appartment converted into the hotel. Not what we expected but the room was clean and enough space for two of us.

Nice hotel, lots of character.

Posted May 30, 2014
The rooms are old but have character. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The keycards do not work very well in the room I was assigned and I am not sure if that is consistent throughout. The stay was pleasant and the food was good.

The room is small and dated

Cons: Clean the room!
This hotel is deceiving. I would not recommend this hotel - location is good but that is all.

Great little Gem

Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: location, gym, restaurant
Cons: room quality, starting to get old
Location: shopping, restaurants, bars
the hotel is old and it is starting to show, rooms need to be updated, bathrooms are great, rooms and conditions are old, no mini bar, no inroom movies, they scaled down from them they opened. the staff is absolutely amazing and more than friendly and attentive. I love the restaurant and food, great service as well. again, great little gem however needs to update the rooms

Sweet little hotel. Great staff. Great value.

Pros: Location, price, comfort, GREAT staff.
Cons: If you're not into boutique retro, this wouldn't be the hotel for you.
Location: It's close to everything you might want to do in L.A. Great location.
I needed a hotel near an event I was attending and found Avalon on-line. It was a great value and has pretty much everything you need, along with an exceptional staff -- very friendly and helpful, from the valet, to the front desk to the maids and room service. The rooms show a little age but were clean and very comfortable. There's a retro vibe throughout which is fun and the on-site restaurant has vegan options which I love. The workout room was small but it wasn't crowded so I had it almost all to myself at 9am on a Saturday. All in all a very nice experience. I would stay here again.
