This is a great place to stay for the price

This is a great place to stay for the price. It is a no frills but very clean and convenient. Staff could have been a bit friendlier but overall a good nights sleep, great TV and coffee maker for the am . I go to UCLA Medical often and will stay here again

Great location near Mormon Temple and 405

Did the job. Nothing special. Needed to be near Santa Monica. Not beautiful. Very simple. Each room with outside key...I prefer entry through lobby.

Tolles modernes und gepflegtes Motel

Posted May 26, 2015

5/16/2015 was our second stay...

Posted May 24, 2015
Pros: Not the breakfast.... free means all starch aside from an apple and banana.
Cons: Air conditioning Water flow
Location: If you are a Mormon you would like being in Gallerias view...
Azul is a very convent location on Santa Monica. Right on the #4 bus line to WeHo or the beach. (senior only 35 cents after rush hour) The room was clean and comfortable, we were on street side so a little noise from that, but as the night progressed the noise diminished. A little mix up when the clerk gave us the wrong room excusing himself as dyslexic. We walked in on a guest in an almost comprising situation. The air conditioner cycled often and had a loud gurgling sound when it shut off. Sounds like a bad valve. Seemed liked it awakened us every time it cycled. The shower uses too much water.... remember California is in a drought. But it felt wonderful.

Great value!

Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: location and price
Cons: more parking and outside of building
Location: it is located on Santa Monica Blvd, near shopping and other cool L.A. spots.
I needed a hotel near an event I was attending in Beverly Hills that was not $400++ a night. I read other reviews and picked this one, and it delivered. It's in a very convenient location, clean and the room was fully renovated. From the outside it looks a little sketch, but they've made the rooms nice. The only problem I'd note about the room is the shower is very small. There are not a lot of parking spots but the front desk assisted me. Parking and internet are free and there was a free breakfast too. All great value for the price in that area of L.A.

Super convenient

Posted May 9, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness, basic amenities, proximity from the beach and all the main Hollywood touristy spot.
Cons: Swimming pool area is missing a hot tub.
Location: Great restaurants walking distance, a reasonable gas station.
Our overall experience was great: a) Smooth & fast checkin b) A bit dated, but clean room - bathroom newly renovated. c) Refrigerator in the room a big plus. d) Comfortable bed. e) House-cleaning folks did a great job when we arrived back to our hotel the next day- please don't forget to leave a few bucks behind as their tip, they'll really appreciate it.

Good value for the location

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: Good choices for breakfast - cereal, breads & spreads, yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee - even pancakes. Room & bed were spacious
Cons: Use space in the room better - the one chair was not comfortable for sitting. Parked in alley (as directed) Going west on SM Bvd. - instructions??
Location: Right across street from LDS Temple - easy to find. Nearby - West LA, Westwood, Santa Monica, etc...
I needed a place to stay in West LA - this seemed like the "best bet" for the area (and the price). I got pretty much what I expected - a fairly clean (and fairly large) room, a decent hot shower, a better-than-expected Continental breakfast, and a location close to both places in which I had events. I did have a room right above the front desk - good in that there was no downstairs noise; not-so-good in that the room faced Santa Monica Blvd. (but only a tad noisy - most of the night was relatively quiet). Be aware that there is no elevator and that the stairway is a bit narrow. I do appreciate the variety offered for the breakfast, but I was told that it wouldn't be available until 7:00 a.m. (really too late for me - I had to be in Santa Monica by 7:30). Fortunately, as I was checking out around 6:30, I was offered the breakfast (which was all set up). Communication issue between night shift and day shift, maybe?
