Amazing hotel. Everything you need is right there!

Posted Apr 18, 2014
This was out first time in the LA area and we weren't sure of where to stay. We took a chance on this hotel and, we're so glad that we did. We didn't give an "excellent" score for facilities because of the parking. Although the men at valet were wonderful...always kind, polite, on time, and appreciative...we didn't realize we would be paying that amount. With that said, we will stay at this hotel again when we are in the area. The entire staff from valet...to housekeeping...and...front desk made it worth the extra!

Gorgeous hotel on a fabulous beach!

Posted Apr 8, 2014
Our partial view was disappointing. We were on the main floor in the rear building, with street parking right Infront. Would recommend main building beach front. Our sink didn't work, but it was fixed promptly. The reception staff were snooty. We booked through Expedia, and were told we could NOT change or upgrade our room, due to that fact. Sad. You must valet your car at a $25 cost per day. The rooms were well appointed and nicely designed, with a real beach feel. If the staff were friendlier and is booking through expedia didn't get an eye roll, the experience would have been even better.

One of the best hotels we have stayed at!!!!

Posted Mar 12, 2014
Pros: The location. Love that it is right on the beach and boardwalk. They even provide you either chairs and towels for the beach.
Cons: Nothing!! Stay like you are and people will return.
Location: We did Disneyland and LA tours. Lots of other beaches close by!
We travel ALOT and have stayed at many hotels and I must say this hotel ranks up in the top 5. We were greeted by a very friendly valet service then went to the front desk where the staff there was pleasant, informative, and knowledgeable about their city. Ask for a crib to be delivered to our room for our grandson and when we came back from the beach it wad already set up in our room ready to go. The breakfast was quite good. All of the hotel VERY clean and quite. View from our room spectacular. Hotel located right on the boardwalk. Only negative point was that we were only there for 5 days!! Would have loved to stay longer!! We will be back!!!

Beutiful relaxing place infront of the beach!

Posted Feb 6, 2014
- The rooms are clean with full kitchenette, fireplace, & a balcony.. - ocean view rooms doesn't overlook the beach immediately, you have to go out on the balcony to have a better look. but if your room is in the north building, the view will have a nice park & the beach is right behind it ,, which was actually great. More relaxing than the noisy strand. - The 3rd floor would be the best option. Cause the first floor feels like your living in the middle of the street if you open the balcony.. While the second floor is great also, but if you have noisy ppl in the above room, you can hear them ,, even you'll hear their steps! - the continental breakfast is just a limited option!! bagels&toast with honey/jam/cream cheese.. That's all! Their coffee is great though :P - overall I had a great experience, hermosa beach is breathtaking! & the vicinity from resturants, parks, manhaten beach was also an advantage! I would definitely recommend it!

Best hotel on the beach!

Our room was a large suite with all amenities including a gas fireplace, kitchen, an over-sized tub, HD TVs and a beautiful ocean view. We were within easy walking distance of dozens of restaurants and shops, bicycle rentals, and of course the beautiful white sands of Hermosa Beach. The staff was extremely courteous and accommodated our every request including an early check in and late check out. We highly recommend the Beach House.

This is NOT a Non-Smoking Hotel

Posted Jan 8, 2014
Pros: Beach location. Beautiful room w frig, microwave, sitting area, balcony. Nice view of the beach and park from the north side rooms. Good breakfast.
Cons: -Smoking on the balconies is a big problem. There should be NO smoking at a hotel that claims it's non-smoking. -More privacy for ground floor rooms.
Location: Right on the beach, walking or biking distance to things in Hermosa Beach or along the shore. Mass transit is nearby. Didn't need a car.
We will not stay here again. Very nice hotel, great location -- but a major problem: it's not really non-smoking. Little can ashtrays on the balconies actually encourage smoking. The result: you can't sit outside or leave your balcony door open. What's the point of being at the beach? The smoke from nicotine addicts blew back into the hallway, so even with the hall and balcony doors closed the carcinogens and stench seeped into our room. When we complained, the front desk said smoking was allowed on the balconies. Others have mentioned this, make sure you get a room on the 3rd floor -- or at least the 2nd. We were told we could check in early; then it turned out the "upgrade" room was on the first floor along the boardwalk. With the blinds open it was like being in a fishbowl, there is no privacy landscaping and the rooms are practically right on the sidewalk. We ended up waiting 4 hours to check in to our booked room on the 2nd floor . . . and then found a lot of smokers hanging out on the balconies much of the time. The room was beautiful and comfortable, nice refrigerator, microwave, etc. The staff was professional, but could do nothing about the hotel's balcony smoking policies. Just be warned and decide if this is a factor for you.
