Great location!

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: Decor in room, staff, protected parking, location
Cons: When fully renovated it will look much better.
Location: .9 miles from Wilshire Avenue activities and 4 blocks from the Grove and Farmer,s Market and CBS Studios. Many restaurants are nearby.
Although the hotel is undergoing renovations our stay was pleasant and the newly renovated room was great! We we in walking distance to Farmer's Market, The Grove,LACMA, the Tar Pits and Petersen Auto Museum and close to Beverly Hills and Hollywood. There is a full restaurant on premises with real maple syrup! We had a wonderful stay.

Overpriced, but clean SIMPLE room

Posted Mar 29, 2015
Pricey, but good location. Very simple room that was clean but not worth $153 plus tax. Construction going on as well, so maybe better amenities in the future. Front desk was helpful and polite to me, but LA cool. On site American diner has good food, large menu with California touches, but don't expect warmth from the wait staff. Not too bad if you keep your expectations low.

Hotel is very close to The Grove.

Posted Mar 28, 2015
It's a nice hotel, with a great location. However, because of the reconstruction it's a bit under served. The staff wasn't there all the time, and even though the rooms were nice & big, the bed was very uncomfortable. Parking is a tad constricted.

Great location, walkable distance to be Beverly centre mall and the grove! Lots of yummy places to eat! Hotel staff super friendly, and great diner under hotel, open late which is so nice, under construction right now however rooms are super clean and comfortable. Once construction complete it will look great!

boa localização. Ideal para pernoite.

Posted Mar 3, 2015
Usei apenas para pernoite. Esta em obras, logo o elevador não funcionava, mas por conta disso algumas taxas não foram cobradas(Estacionamento, internet) Pelo que oferece poderia ser mais barato.

Active construction site

Pros: Location and the rooms.
Cons: Please warn your customers that the hotel is undergoing a major reconstruction. I wouldn't have stayed in it, had I known the real conditions.
Location: Beverly and the streets parallel to it are lined with shops, bars and restaurants. Visit the Grove and Farmers Market, a quick walk from the hotel.
The location is fantastic, but the hotel is undergoing major reconstruction of rooms and common areas. This means they have limited availability, the elevator doesn't work, the winding stairways are cracked and dusty, there are workers walking around the hallways and making noise overhead, the internet isn't working, and the pool area is being rebuilt. To their credit, the rooms are renonovated and if they follow this trend, the hotel might be really cute by May, when they expect to be done. The staff is very nice, which offsets the lack of amenities, limited facilities, some noise, dust and the horrendous entry/exit to the parking lot.

Very comfortable room!

Posted Feb 9, 2015
We were not informed in advance about the level of construction that was going on, but that was the only thing that detracted from the experience. Our recently renovated room was cute, clean, and comfortable. I'd say the broken elevator was the only real disappointment, but they were kind enough to comp our parking as an olive branch. Unfortunately, this reno will probably result in much higher room rates, and there are few affordable hotels left in LA. But I'm glad that they are maintaining the style of this old motel and not tearing it down to build an overprices high rise. All in all, a thumbs up!

Under construction

Posted Feb 3, 2015
Pros: location. swingers restaurant is downstairs on the corner.
Cons: when a place is under construction -- they need to do things differently -- lower price, or offer a free breakfast at swingers.
Location: Fairfax village is a nice area of LA.
the elevator doesn't work -- and isn't going to work? I mean the workers had been there 6 weeks, and had never seen the elevator working! I'm over 60, bum knee, did not enjoy 3rd floor room . . .

Under construction!!

Posted Jan 29, 2015
Pros: The rooms are always clean. It's prices are reasonable. It is close to where we are visiting.
Cons: The noise and mess construction. The amenities in the room need to be improved as the remodel finishes and prices increase.
Location: the Farmers Market and the Grove are with in easy walking distance. Studio tours are close by. Lots of restaurants and shopping.
The Beverly-Laurel is always has clean rooms but the hotel is undergoing an extensive remodel. The entry and office are make shift right now and everything outside the rooms is dusty and messy. The pool is boarded over, the ice machines are "temporarily" out of order- no power or water in new location yet and the elevator is out of order and was when we stayed there in September. The remodeled hotel will be very nice but the getting there is really messy. Remodel is supposed to be done by summer. At this point the price makes it worth staying there.
