Great location

Well located hotel, within walking distance of sunset blvd and Santa Monica blvd. Only 3 miles from Chinese theatre and Hollywood walk of fame which is good as most tours leave from there!

QUIET LOCATION, IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYTHING

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: The location was great. The room was very comfortable.
Cons: Invest in quieter AC units, or perhaps, central air?
Location: Right between Santa Monica and Sunset Blvd's, and close to La Cienega, all major arteries if you have a car. The Beverly Center is a short walk away.
Wanted to stay in West Hollywood, close to my friends' house. They recommended The Chamberlain because they had stayed there when they first moved to LA. Did not disappoint. A very comfortable, well-decorated and reasonably-sized suite. It had a nice seating area to watch the 40' screen, which came in handy during the early games at The World Cup, and the king-sized bed and large pillows were very comfortable. The hotel staff was polite and helpful. Only two drawbacks: The AC unit was loud and situated above the bed, which was rather unfortunate since the only time it ran was at bedtime (during a rather muggy week). Fortunately, I can sleep through anything, so it wasn't a major inconvenience. Secondly, parking was a bit expensive and, sadly, necessary since all of the surrounding streets have permit-only parking after 7pm. Again, I was fortunate to have a free alternative since my friends were close, but if you're not so lucky, you'll be paying a pretty penny to park your car, unless you're willing to move your car around at night and again in the morning. Aside from that, the hotel itself was great.

An oasis

This hotel was a truly great oasis in the concrete and traffic of LA. I didn't want to leave.

Trendy

Posted Jun 19, 2014
The hotel was pretty nice, well located and cool style, we were negatively impressed by the air condition since you don't expect them to be so archaic... And so they made a lot of noice. The parking was pretty expensive 39 the night. Other than that the hotel its pretty comfortable

Really good hotel

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: room size, rooftop pool, gym, friendly staff, quiet location, strong & free wifi throughout the hotel
Cons: a rowing machine in the gym, larger pool for swimming (not just a plunge pool), bath in bathroom
Location: quiet setting but still in the middle of everything in LA so easy get places.
Had a great stay here. Very comfortable room and the gym and rooftop really added to its appeal. Was staying on business and its a great location to base yourself from for meetings in Santa Monica, West Hollywood and toward Downtown. Would certainly stay there again.

Hidden gem

Posted Jun 15, 2014
Pros: - good service in every way - good food - centrally located but in a quiet neighborhood
Cons: like all LA hotels, the parking is expensive
Location: Within walking distance of Santa Monica Blvd and also the Sunset Strip. Not far from Hollywood Bowl, Whiskey-a-go-go, and UCLA and Children's Hospital
If you enjoy boutique hotels, this one is really a hidden gem. We live in the LA area and occasionally stay in LA for events, etc. We found this one on an Expedia search and it was a great find. It is tucked away on a side street so it is a bit harder to find but the location is perfect for us. Its quiet but convenient. The room was more than we expected. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very reasonably priced and the food was outstanding, both in quality and in presentation. This is one that we will definitely try again.

Good Location for Sunset Boulevard.

Posted Jun 11, 2014
Pros: Location and individual feel. Plus the rooftop pool was nice to retire to after a day in the city.
Cons: Rooms could be decorated in lighter tones in order to not make them feel so dark inside especially with so little natural light being able to enter.
Location: Sunset Blvd a great night out if you like music, bars and restaurants.
The hotel is nicely situated 5 minutes from Sunset Blvd whilst being nicely tucked away in a residential area. The decor of the rooms is a little tired but they were clean and a nice size. When we arrived we were unable to turn the fire off and after phoning down to reception we were initially advised to just blow the pilot light out. It took a little insistence on our part that this would just result in gas escaping into the room, once this was agreed a maintenace staff member was shortly sent up and fixed a faulty part. Additionally when we first arrived we asked for a recommendation for a local restaurants specifically somewhere that we could get Pizza, the information we were provided was not the greatest in the main we seemed to be directed to pizza delivery establishments. However these were isolated incidents and otherwise we found the staff to be friendly and the hotel to be one that we enjoyed our time in. The hotel certainly has a boutique feel to it and as such of you like you're branded hotel names with everything that comes with that then this probably isn't the place for you.
