Great place to stay in Santa Monica

Posted Oct 23, 2014
Channel Road Inn was a great place to stay away from the hubbub of LA. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the bed and pillows extremely comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, and wine and cheese were really appreciated. Channel Road Inn has a peaceful ambience, yet so close to great shopping and the beach.

A very cosy BnB in a great location.

Pros: Cosines, location and the friendly staff.
Location: Two miles from the Santa Monica pier, what more do you want.
We were very satisfied with both the amenities, location and staff. Nothing could be faulted. We will stay there again on our next visit.

Expensive guest house

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Very disappointing experience. This guest house was presented as a hotel. It was at least 2 miles from the main drag and not made clear to the international visitor. They offered a very limited buffet breakfast (home bakes), and afternoon ourdrinks on the house, but this was not enough to allow for the prices they are charging which relate to main stream hotels with amenities to offer. Rooms are clean and quite well equipped in rather poetic fashion, but you can't sleep because of the noise from overhead guests - not their fault but no insulation at all for noise levels. Shocking value.

Last stop before LA

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: Location to beach and parking
Cons: Single glazed timber windows did nothing to hide the busy morning traffic outside and was the only downside to what is a great hotel
Location: Only had an overnight stay but the beach was less than 10 minutes away and there were numerous restaurants closer than that.
The hotel staff were very helpful and the room was small but comfortable. As an overnight stop it fitted the requirement.

Perfect!!

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: Everything!!
Location: Really close to Santa Monica beach. You can walk to central Santa Monica and on to Venice Beach if you don't mind a bit of a trek - a beautiful walk.
We arrived here for the first leg of our road trip honeymoon. We didn't have to pay for parking either in the car park or out on the road nearby which was good as we soon found out that this is not the case for most other hotels in California. When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly and efficient member of staff. The foyer, the living room area and breakfast dining room were beautiful. We couldn't believe how quaint and pretty it all was (you know in a non-pukey over the top way). It was so nice. We walked in to the smell of baking (we had home baked cookies waiting for us in our room) and were made to feel welcome and relaxed immediately. Our room of perfect and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a really decent size too - bath included. In the morning breakfast was delicious (again home baked) and it varied each day. It's a stone's throw from the beach and is in a perfect location for getting into central Santa Monica. We were actually quite sad to move on to our next location and of all the hotels we stayed in, this was definitely our favourite. I would go there again. I didn't know about the Four Sisters Inns so we didn't book any others, but I would definitely do this next time if they are anything like this one. Thanks for a great start to our honeymoon!!!!

Very Quaint, great staff, small room.

Pros: Waking up to the smell of baked goods and coffee every morning.
Location: Near beach, Hungry Cat restaurant, can walk long beach. They have bikes. To get to other places need car.
It is in a wonderful location, very quaint inn that has superb service. You wake up in the morning to the smell of coffee and bake goods. In the evening they have wine and snacks for the guests. The common area is very cozy. They have small grounds, however, real estate is at a premium so they have maximized their space. Staff are amazing, our room was very small and at the back of the house but private. Parking was included which was great. Overall I would recommend.
