Interesting Experience

Posted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: The price point was good; the location was central; and the facility was safe and close to a small Ethiopian strip.
Cons: The noise and the overall environment could be improved.
Location: A line of Ethiopian restaurants are a block away.
I was surprised to find that the b&b was a part of someone's home and was not tidy in certain areas. There was no front "reception" area to greet me as I walked in, and I felt almost as though I was intruding in the home. Everyone was friendly, and the rooms, though small, were clean, tidy, and well decorated. However, my room was by the kitchen, so it was loud in the morning, and I could hear footsteps and doors overhead at night. There was also a fight that broke out from 11:30-12:30am, which was somewhat scary and startling.

Good B&B close to Hollywood and Beverly Hills

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: A charming B&B where you can interact with other guests and the owner unlike a regular hotel.
Cons: The only thing would be something to help the noise level coming off the street. This affects only one room,
Location: It is centrally located between downtown and the beach and Hollywood and Beverly Hills. The 3rd Street Farmers Market is a few blocks away.
The staff was very courteous and helpful. They fulfilled any request we had. Rooms are large. They moved us to a different room because a better room was available. The morning breakfast was good with fresh fruit, eggs, cereal and fresh squeezed orange juice.

Okay for Quick Trip

I booked this room for a student who had to make a quick trip to the Embassy. She said it was fine for what she was there for, but would not stay there for extended periods of time.

I think this used to be a great place at one point, but is in need of renovation.

Interesting

This place is a classic 2 story LA house. The location is perfect for about anything LA. The surrounding area is a toss up. 2 blacks one way and there's mansions and 2 blocks the other there are slums and homeless everywhere. I grew up right here but it is vastly changed into some kind of multi-culture 3rd word non English speaking area. Listen, The place is OK. It is fairly safe and I would say about the best location at this price you can find. It is close to everything you can imagine and that from someone that was born there. If you're from out of town and visiting LA you will find the location just about perfect. The owners leave you alone.

A fun place to stay

If you are tired of the chain hotels this is a very nice diversion. The owner and manager were very responsive and helpful in arranging our arrival. The room and connecting bath room were clean and very comfortable with a 30's look. Breakfast was made to order and excellent. All in all, a fun experience at a great price.
