“Bang for Your Buck”
Maybe I'm overly used to sub-par hotels, but I thought this one was nearly as nice as a 5-star hotel I recently splurged on. The Marriott LAX wasn't a splurge, and I wasn't sure what I'd get, but I was happily surprised. I loved the modern, almost zen-like decor. There is a cute-looking cafe in the lobby (didn't get to try it but would have). The staff I encountered was friendly - they also let me keep my bags there after I'd checked out, since I had a late evening flight. The airport shuttle was convenient. Since it is near the airport, sometimes you could hear the rumble of planes, but it wasn't terribly bothersome (and I'm a light sleeper). Nor was it located near the sights I wanted to see, but you could easily catch a bus or a cab. All in all, fine for a short stop in LA.
“A nice choice.”
I have stayed at this hotel twice now while attending a convention at a nearby hotel. The Marriott Courtyard provides a better room, at a cheaper price, so I didn't mind the 3 city block walk to and from the convention hotel. As a matter of fact, after a day of attending the convention and sitting most of the day, a pleasant walk to my hotel generally felt good. I never had major problems with the weather, but this may be a concern for some.
“Good business hotel near airport”
Nice hotel. Very clean. Fun interactive place to do some work while on the road. Comfortable rooms. This is not the Ritz but for the price its a great deal.
“Wonderful Welcome”
After experiencing a long overseas flight, being swamped by TOO many people in LAX, and grabbing the hotel shuttle amidst a swarm of shoving travelers, the friendliness of this hotel was not only a welcome change but completely unexpected. We had stayed at the Courtyard Segundo one week prior and found it very unfriendly. This Courtyard was so friendly and accomodating it was a complete pleasure. We WILL stay here again!
“Courtyard LAX”
Near by the airport. Nice and confortable room to stay over a for a couple of nights. No doubt, I will get back next time I am in town.
“Good Place to Stay Near LAX”
I recommend this hotel as a good place to stay if you are looking for a clean, comfortable hotel at a reasonable price near LAX. The rooms were indeed very clean and very comfortable, and their decor was relaxing. I was staying for a leisure trip, but the room seemed like it would be ideal for a business traveler. You will sleep well here and, if on business, you can get some work done in the room.
“unethical”
Has had a make over which works well BUT I booked a tour with my wife to fill in the day before our early evening departure flight . When we checked out of our room in the morning I failed to take a new GPS unit from the safe which I put at the rear of the safe. I removed our other documents but failed to notice this unit as it is black and the interior of the safe is black and at floor level. Our luggage was stored in the hotel until our return from the tour. When driving to the excursion I realised I had failed to remove the GPS from the safe. We contacted reception & cleaning staff around 11 am and were advised by housekeeping that the safe was empty. I asked them to recheck but received the same reply no GPS however we were hoping someone else may have handed it in. Upon returning in the afternoon we contacted reception and they advised a guest had booked in and housekeeping would re-enter the room and check the safe which seemed quite odd as the previous shift had failed to pass on the information on the missing item. We could wait any longer as we needed to catch our flight. I have tried to contact the hotel on multiple occasions without any reply. I need to report this as a theft but am unable to until confirmation from the hotel if they do or dont have the GPS. Bill Marriott suggests they are the most ethical of companies (check website) however in this instance they seem to be playing the old trick - dont reply and they will go away. Well Bill I wont.
“Very Pleased”
Clean, comfortable, convenient--all for a great price. Though close to the approach path of aircraft, the room was truly soundproofed and I was never aware of jet noise. The room was large and modern, and the water pressure in the shower was amazing. It would have made a fireman proud. All in all, highly recommended.
“Overall ok”
The hotel charges overnight quest parking which was not expected. The hotel closes it's resturant at 10:30 a.m. and does not open again until 5:00 p.m. Their are not resturants within walking distances for the hotel.
“Great for one person”
The weirdest thing about this hotel is that the sink is in the bedroom area. I think they did that so you can have a spacious sink and still have a big room. But this layout is not conducive for two people sharing a room. Someone is always keeping the other one up by running the water or having the vanity lights on. Which is too bad because I like everything else about the room and the hotel. It would be great if you are staying by yourself or if both people are on the same schedule.
