Reservations mean nothing

Posted Aug 25, 2014
I specifically booked a room with double beds so that my buddy and I wouldn't have to share a bed. I checked in around 2am and the hotel staff named Carl said the room was given to another guest and the only room is available is a king bed. I was shocked that my reservations was NOT honored and I'm left with a king bed between 2 dudes. This is NOT cool and in now way acceptable. They offered me a roll away bed and I was stuck with a crappy spring twin size bed that gave me the worst back ache the next morning. Not the vacation I had in mind. Overall, the hotel was decent. The elevators, however, were outdated and slow. It would make a loud beep every floor it passes. Also, it wasn't until check out was when I found out that the valet service costs $17 per car per night. It would've been nice to know that ahead of time.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. No one wants to arrive at 2am to find out there is an issue with their reservation. I do sincerely apologize for the aggravation caused by not having the room with two beds available that you reserved. There is really no excuse on our part, nor will I attempt to offer one. We are truly sorry. We are most appreciative of you feedback and will certainly share with our team. Thank you again.

Disappointment in Old Town Pasadena

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: Room service was prompt and the fajitas were okay.
Cons: At least give us a hair dryer. Even The Red Roof Inn gives you a hair dryer.
Location: This is Old Town Pasadena! One of the prime tourist spot in the United States.
Neither of the two key cards given to me at check-in would let me enter the hotel from the garage, so I had to hike down five stories and walk around the block to get new keys. Of the two new keys, one worked. I met other people in the garage who couldn't get into the hotel and I observed people in the halls repeatedly poking their cards into the slots trying to get into their rooms. The ice machine on my floor didn't work. To get around anywhere in the hotel you must walk around a large 'U' shaped corridor. When you are forced by the shortcomings of the hotel to do this three or four times, it gets tedious. There was no hair dryer in the room although there was an iron. I guess they thought you didn't need both. The free internet was apparently overwhelmed in the evening, but it did work in the late morning. Almost all moderately priced hotels these days offer complimentary breakfast. These guys don't even give you coffee with the ten dollar eggs. In fairness, I did get a free tube of toothpaste.

Scott, Thank you so much for sharing your feedback. I am sorry for your challenges and do sincerely apologize. A glitch in a software system for our keys did challenges for all during a brief but busy time period. Our vendor had it fixed in a short time, however it most certainly did cause some aggravation. I am sorry that you personally were affected. All of our rooms do have hair dryers. The dryers are placed in the top dresser drawer so as not to clutter the bathroom, but still be easily accessible. We do share these comments with both line staff and senior level management with the goal of continuous improvement. Thank you again.

Nice hotel if you go to an event at the Rose Bowl

Posted Aug 4, 2014
I was in town for the Beyonce and JayZ concert at the Rose Bowl when I stayed at this hotel. The stay was super expensive for 2 nights. $600 (this included the hotels parking fee). Overall, the room was nice and clean and breakfast amazing!

Excellent location in amazing Pasadena

Hotel was an excellent choice to start off California trip. We used the hotel's restaurant each morning for breakfast and also for one evening meal - would recommend as food excellent at reasonable rate. Room clean and well maintained. We used the pool several times and also the gym - all again clean and well maintained. Next visit to LA well definitely stay here again as so close to shops and restaurants of Pasadena.

Enjoyed during the stay

Pros: Location
The hotel is remodeled and renovated, the room is spacious and everything is comfortable. The location is great, 20 min drive to Universal Studio, and you also have a lot of food and shopping options just nearby.
