Barely got by

The bed was very uncomfortable and old. Sheets smelled bad, wouldn't dare put our faces on it, so my husband and I used our spare shirts as pillow covers! Overall comfort of the room was alright. We could hear the second floor guests walking and talking almost clearly, which was pretty annoying. Will I refer anyone here, no. Will I go back here, no.

Best For Your Buck

Posted Nov 1, 2014
Pros: The price is also really great! It's not a luxury hotel - but it's clean and simple.
Cons: New quilts on the bed (brown is never a good look), full sized pillows, more breakfast options (croissants, waffles, boiled eggs, juice)
Location: The best thing about this hotel is the location! A 4 minute drive right to Manhattan beach, close to LAX, plenty of shops nearby. Target, Whole Foods.
The best thing about this hotel is the location! A 4 minute drive right to Manhattan beach, close to LAX, plenty of stores and shops nearby. Target, Whole Foods, Vons, everything. The price is also really great! It's not a luxury hotel - but it's clean and simple. There was construction on the street AND in the room next to us - which turned out to be a problem, as we heard construction noises outside all night and then SAWING noises next door in the morning! That was annoying - but it got us up and out! There's a complimentary breakfast if you're not choosy. Just toast and cereal, maybe some fruit. And free parking is always a win! It's great for the budget traveler.

this was the worse hotel I had ever been

Posted Oct 30, 2014
Pros: nothing
Cons: everything. Especially the carpets should be cleaned and the rooms should smell way better.
Location: It was about one mile from the beach and ocean.
I had to change the hotel after one night. The carpet were so dirty that if I were walking on the street bear footed my feet would have been cleaner. The terrible smell must have been from some mold. I am not sure, but it was bad. The hotel is one mile from the beach, but I could not take it.

not the most modern or cleanest

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Location location location 10 minutes from the beach
Cons: cleanliness, friendliness, hospitality...
Ice machine outside our room clanking all night, probably not vacuumed recently and certainly not in the corners...just not very clean.

Pros: great value
Cons: fine with it all.

No One home

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: Nothing!!!!!
Cons: Remove this hotel from EXPEDIA's offerings.
We arrived around midnight. No one was at the front desk to check us in and the lobby was locked. We called from outside the door and there was no response. We had just been on a flight for the past 6 hours from the east coast. After 15 minutes we left for another hotel. We continued to call for the next 2 hours, still no answer. Finally reached someone at 9:50AM and they couldn't explain why no one was at the front desk.ew

Noisy

Posted Oct 4, 2014
Location: There's nothing nearby.
If the machinery room right outside the room doesn't keep you awake, then the guests who come in at all hours & decide to have a 20 minute conference in loud voices outside the room will.

Much older hotel than was expecting.

Pros: Coffee. Free shuttle. Keep in mind shuttle hours are 6 am til 9 pm only
Cons: Communication issues, posting of construction timelines
Location: Only got chance to eat next door at a fast food place, ok food, not great.
Construction all night long across street. Lumpy pillows, ended up being satisfactory because they became dense and i prefer firm pillows. Light fixture was yellow and cracked over sink area. I requested 7 am shuttle and received a call at 5:55 am saying my shuttle was outside, my heart raced and i thought i was going to have a heart attack. I mentioned 3 times that shuttle was for 7 am. All in all i got to lax in a timely fashion. Hotels own shuttle so was direct and the staff was helpful and kind otherwise. Was surprised by breakfast coffee quality, was not strong but tasty. Value was there overall but nothing delux about the king size delux room.
