“THEY CHARGE A LARGE FEE FOR PARKING!!!”

Before my stay, I asked about the parking and they said they had parking for their guests in their structure. However, they neglected to mention that the large fee (plus tax) until my checkout. I've never been to a hotel that has charged so much for parking (if at all). No wonder they didn't tell me until I checked out. As far as the cleanliness of my room, it wouldn't have been that bad, except for the "intimate lotion" that was left on the side of the bed. HOW DO YOU MISS THAT?!?!?!? Also, the drain in my shower didn't work, so every time I took a shower, I was also forced to take a bath. To top it all off, the stairway to the parking structure that I was unexpectedly paying a large fee every day to park in reeked. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again.

“Nice Place”

I really liked The Crowne Plaza. The hotel staff was very helpful and professional and the room was more than satisfactory. The restaurant downstairs was good and there is a great deli walking distance across the street. Traffic is terrible, but I knew the hotel was in LA when I booked the room. I would stay here again.

“Needs refurbishing.”

Room was shabby. Floor was a dark carpet meant to hide dirt but there were old spots and stains on it. Bathroom was old. Carpets in hallways needed vacuuming and cleaning. Room refrig smelled when open and I'm not sure it was even plugged in.

“Crowne Plaza Hotel”

Ken the valet/bellman was excellent. He was very helpful and attentive. Maria the host in the restaurant was friendly and personable. We ate in the hotel restaurant every morning and the service was good.

“On a budget”

When entering our room the mini bar was leaking all over the floor onto the carpet. I immediately called reception & they moved us very quickly to another room. The room was small but clean & the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was very small with little room to leave wash bags etc & badly in need of an update. All the common areas were in need of new carpet & paint. The general upkeep was tired. The location was in walking distance to good restaurants.

“Convenient location, boring neighborhood--I want my MTV!”

There were many good aspects to this hotel: convenient location to my appointment, super-comfortable bed, well-appointed bathroom, amazing panoramic view. But there were disappointments as well: I can't believe a major hotel in Los Angeles/Beverly Hills would not have premium cable (HBO, etc.) given that it is in the heart of the US entertainment industry's capital. The area nearby has NO interesting nightlife, not a single bar, lounge or high quality restaurant. I lived in LA for over a decade and had no idea there could be such an entertainment dead zone right in the middle of town. Bring your car or hail a cab! Check-in was brusque, but check-out was much better. The room lamps had those weird lightbulbs with the harsh white illumination--not my thing unless I plan on performing open-heart surgery. All-in all, well priced and convenient, with comfortable rooms, but there is room for improvement.

Area recommendations

Drive or cab it to some place more interesting, say La Brea Avenue or Sunset Boulevard, or maybe near the Grove.

“Great price and very accommodating for observant Jewish travelers”

We wanted something within walking distance to our son, They were extremely accommodating with putting us on a low floor and having regular keys instead of electronic card keys. Fantastic price as well.
