Pros: Location.

This is our second stay at this hotel and if you want to be on Sunset in the heart of everything I don't think you will get better value. Yes, this is an older style hotel but its clean and safe and the rooms are quite good. The basic room isn't huge so if you are staying for a few nights and can spend a little more and get one with the kitchenette I would recommend it. The beds and pillows are comfortable and nothing wrong with the shower. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Hollywood Blvd, there is an iHop right across the rood, an In N' Out Burger next door and a good pub called the Happy Ending also across the road. There is plenty of parking on site for $10 per 24 hours and a continental breakfast.

Would not stay again

Although the location was pretty good there is a lot of drugged out homeless out on the street here. The walls of this hotel are super thin with all windows shut you could hear people shouting outside, people shutting car doors, even car engines at times.

Two times stayed here...Two times moved us.

Pros: It was near my daughter's apartment, and near some Hollywood sights. I would recommend a stay here, but with warnings...see above.
Cons: Breakfast unhealthy, carbs, and not enough places to sit. Honor people's room requests when made months in advance, and when confirmed by staff.
Location: This is why we stay here. Walking distance to Hollywood Blvd.. In and Out burger, and Hollywood High School nextdoor.
We stayed here twice. Both times we requested and paid for a room poolside. Both times our request was mixed up. The first stay I paid extra to get a poolside room, but was put in the back of the motel facing an apartment building. This room had a full kitchen. They thought that was an "upgrade". I was on vacation. I wasn't going to cook. I was told by the staff to always call them directly to insure I get the room I wanted. Now to our second visit this past Christmas, 2014. We made our reservations 4 months in advance. I requested a second floor poolside room with a balcony when I made the reservation. We were staying 4 nights, so I wanted a nice room. A week prior to our stay I called the motel directly to insure we had a second story poolside room. I was told by a girl named Beverly that indeed we did. Two days before our stay I again called the motel to double check our room. I was once again assured that we had a second floor poolside room with a balcony. The day we arrived I called in the morning to see if we could check in early. They said no they were too busy. When we got there at 4 in the afternoon we were given a first floor room under the steps. Their explanation was that the people who had our room prior to us wanted to stay an extra night and they didn't want to make them move. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!

Great location

The Days Inn was perfect for us. Relatively inexpensive and an easy walk to the Chinese Theater and all the action. The rooms are fairly basic but clean and our bed was very comfortable in the king room. We were on the front of the building so there was a fair bit of traffic noise but being so close to the main area of Hollywood I think you have to expect that. A very basic breakfast was available in the small dining area. It was OK but very basic and busy so sometimes hard to get a table. There are plenty of other places to go have breakfast though so it wasn't a big deal for us. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We got a late checkout on our last day and they allowed us to store our bags there which was great as we had a late night flight so we could still get around town and not have to drag our luggage with us. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location

This hotel was in perfect location. However, if I were to come back to California, I would not stay here again. The room was pretty decient, had an odd smell to it and the breakfast was alright, good thing there is an ihop across the street. The staff is not very friendly as well, but again, my stay was short, so I wasn't expecting perfection.

It was a pleasant stay and conveniently located between hollywood, Venice, IDA, Millennium Dance Complex. A lot of food and things to do in the area.
