Wi Fi Lie

Posted Apr 18, 2015
Rooms are ok. Little bit run down. The main problem was the slow wi-fi. We stayed for 3 nights and wifi was crap. I was struggling to contact my family through skype in Australia during my stay there. so annoying. Rooms were very quiet though and clean.

No More Bed Bugs

Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: The toilet ran during the night
Location: We loved being on Huntington Street that was good access to Arcadia High School (Track and Field Meet), downtown Monrovia, and Santa Anita race track
I was a little worried about the previous reviews saying bed bugs were a problem so I called the hotel and the manager reassured me it was problem a couple years ago (see the review date) but it had been taken care of and no longer existed. We decided to give a try and sure enough the stay was pleasant, no bed bugs, the staff was great, and the free breakfast in the morning was good (oatmeal, toast, juice, yogurt, fruit).

Staff was friendly.

Staff was friendly. Unfortunately that's all I have nice to say. My face cloth was dirty and stunk.

An adequate place for poor people

Posted Apr 11, 2015
Pros: It was quiet
Cons: Better breakfast selection. The rooms were OK and even though it is not in the greatest neighborhood, I felt safe.
Location: You are 15 minutes from Pasadena and half an hour from the San Fernando Valley.
I stayed at the Days Inn while my wife had surgery at the City of Hope. This hotel is basically adequate, but I did not need to see the mouse in front of the hotel and I wish the breakfast provided something more nutritious than Frosted Flakes. I put an apple back because it was dusty.

Recently renovated to a much better standard.

Posted Mar 27, 2015
Pros: Nice and quiet despite being quite close to the freeway.
Cons: Better lighting is required. It is very dark.
Location: Quite close to several restaurants and close to the freeway.
The TV and bathroom have been updated and make the stay much more enjoyable. It now represents excellent value for money. The staff are very helpful and friendly and would recommend it to friends.

Nice Hotel, but...

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: Clean rooms, nice folks at the desk
Cons: Furnishings
The room was very clean and was nice overall, but a little overcrowded on furniture. We asked for a ground floor unit, as my wife has a bad knee and going up and down stairs is not easy for her. We were given an handicapped access room. Now, I didn't have a problem with that, as it means the bathroom is larger, but that also tends to mean a slightly smaller amount of space in the sleeping area. Remember, rooms only have so many square feet available and the larger bathroom space has to come from somewhere, right? Anyway, how it appeared to me was that, even though there was a little bit less square footage in the sleeping area due to the larger bathroom, the hotel tried to fit the same exact furniture into a smaller space. As a result, there was a chair placed directly in front of the space where you are supposed to hang clothes. This also proved to be an obstruction when climbing in or out of the bed on the side where thew chair was. It seemed strange to me, as the chair was totally unnecessary and the room would have been better without it. Other than that, the room was nice. I was clean and comfortable and the mattress was a nice compromise between the hard mattress my wife enjoys and a softer mattress that I prefer.

Dang Timers

Posted Feb 22, 2015
Pros: Fidges and microwaves in the rooms.
Cons: Get rid of the timers!
Location: Pretty good location if you are doing something in Duarte. Several restaurants nearby.
Everything about this hotel was satisfactory except for the darn timers they put on all the lights and outlets. You would be reading, and all of a sudden the light would turn off; VERY IRRITATING!! Dump the timers, and get more customers; the difference in income will far outweigh the pennys you might be saving by turning off the lights.

Terrible

Posted Jan 19, 2015 on Hotels.com
When walking in the room everything looks ok until we walked in the bathroom. We booked a jacuzzi room and when we looked in the it had spiders and the tub was dirty. We reported to the woman at the front desk she said cleaning crew doesn't come in until morning. So we drove to the local CVS to buy cleaning supplies because the room was nonrefundable.
