Good location next to freeway

Posted Apr 20, 2015
We stayed here in a suite for a visit to UCLA. Our room was right off the elevator-but very quiet with a nice view over the adjacent ball fields. Access to downtown Santa Monica and the freeway is very easy. Bell hops were very quick to retrieve our car upon notice. The cookies from the front desk were excellent-too bad they ran out at times!

Wonderful stay

Posted Apr 19, 2015
We had an amazing 4 night stay here. It was my daughters birthday and they really made a fuss of her and made her day feel more special with a gorgeous chocolate cake. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The room was spacious and very clean. The cookies were delicious and the heated pool was inviting. Location was great and easy to get to most places and just a short walk from the pier, shops, restaurants and beautiful sandy beach. Thank you.

I have lost TRUST in Hilton hotel

Posted Apr 18, 2015
Frankly speaking I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. My jacket was stolen from the drawer in room 837. That was a terrible, the worst experience I have ever had in my life with Hilton Hotel Santa Monica, Los Angeles.

Almost Perfect but not quite

Posted Apr 12, 2015
Pros: Big rooms, lots of space
Cons: Free WiFi and parking
Location: Beach, Shops
Of the five hotels I stayed in on a recent trip to Southern California this one was by far the best. I've stayed here twice before so I know the ropes, ask for a quiet room away from the 10 Freeway, rooms on the third floor are good if you want to use the pool area or gym. The rooms are spacious and clean and have everything you need as a family including a small kitchen area with fridge and microwave, also having two TV's means not having to watch kids television 24/7. The location is great only a short walk to the beach and pier and to the third street shops. The pool area is good the pool is only 4.5ft at it's deepest so good for children but they could do with more loungers considering the number of guests. Things I didn't like was paying for wifi, this was the only hotel on my trip that charged, it's penny pinching and cheap! The other thing I didn't like was paying $32 plus $3.20 tax per night for valet parking, they used to offer self parking but not any more! You are also obliged to tip the valet every time you access your car so it can be quite expensive UNLESS you do as I did... directly opposite the hotel entrance is a public car park which only charges $5 for 24 hours. I could see my car from my room, it only cost me $15 for 3 nights parking, a saving of $105.60 plus tips! Be sure to read the signs when you park, there are no in and out privileges and you mustn't stay for more than 72 hours straight.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We do have a great location, just a quick walk to the beach, 3rd street promenade, Venice beach and world famous Santa Monica Pier. Add this with our wonderfully attentive service team and we are the perfect location to enjoy a family get-away in Santa Monica. Great tip for folks that don’t want the convenience of valet parking with ins and out privileges and front door easy access. Thank you again for taking the time to share this with us. We hope to see you back again soon. Brian Murphy General Manager

It's an average hotel, particularly for the cost, but the staff were great.

Disappointment in Santa Monica

Posted Apr 4, 2015
Pros: Locale. Attentive parking attendants.
Cons: Better communication.
Usually go with the Marriot and Hyatt chains when traveling but opted for the Hilton near the Santa Monica Pier because of it's convenient location at the terminus of the 10 Freeway. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The locale was as convenient as expected and the parking attendants whisked us out of car and got us to the check-in desk. The clerk provided us a room in quick fashion and then the wheels came off the bus. We had a 2 year old with us who is a light sleeper and we were given a room on the noisy 4th Street side. It was a long night as it is a busy street. The next morning, I had little appetite and declined to eat at the breakfast buffet but asked for only a glass of orange juice. I was told that the restaurant was out of orange juice. Out of orange juice during the breakfast hours??!! I did not want to be the Ugly American in Santa Monica so I protested softly. I did not do so as we left the table and saw that others arriving after us had been served their orange juice. I was then belatedly offered my juice with the explanation that more juice had been acquired but it only made me unhappier. Sounds like a petty complaint but a few diplomatic words could have easily defused the situation. Finally, we had rented two rooms at a reasonable rate only to discover with our final bill that the tally had inflated by another 33%. I will return to Hyatt and Marriot.

GREAT LOCATION BUT DONT' EXPECT SCENIC VIEWS

Posted Mar 19, 2015
The hotel staff were excellent. The location was terrific, walking distance from the beach and the heart of Santa Monica. The room (a 2 -queen bed suite) was clean but the supposed balcony was a dismal concrete triangle that looked out on a school playing field and had barely room to fit one chair. The dining room decor is tired (fifties) and the breakfast at 19.99 a person was nothing special. Gym and pool were nice. The staff were TERRIFIC.
