Okay hotel near beach and restaurants.

Okay but studio suite small, dark on 1st floor. Pull out sofa extremely small. Breakfast okay but in small space. Okay for a night.

Ecellent Hotel for the Cost

Posted May 22, 2015
Comes with appetizers and free wine until 7:30pm! Free breakfast too. Where to park could easily be missed, but it's free. My room was clean and comfortable. They also use the bath and body works shampoo products that I love. :)

Ants and door that wouldn't lock

Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: The staff
Cons: The hotel needs some updating
Location: Convenient to shopping and a quick drive to Manhattan Beach but on a very busy road
The hotel is older and a bit worn. The rooms have a kitchenette but no silverware, cups, plates etc... Each time I turned on the lights in the kitchenette there were little ants crawling around the counters. I had booked a five night stay but after my first night, upon leaving the room I pulled the door shut and checked to make sure that it was closed and locked. It was not fully closed. With a little wiggling of the handle it opened. I notified the front desk and they sent someone from housekeeping up to confirm that the door would not fully close and lock. The hotel did not have a room to transfer me to for the duration of my stay. I would have had to move to a different room and then move again after 2 days. That would have been very inconvenient given my schedule. My room was prepaid through Expedia but within the hour I contacted Expedia, they confirmed the situation with the front desk and my refund was authorized. I was able to get a room at the Redondo Beach Hilton Garden Inn through Expedia. The Hilton property was more expensive but much much nicer. I wouldn't stay at the Hawthorne Suites again but I appreciate that their staff was very considerate and helpful.

Better than I was expecting...

Posted May 1, 2015 on Hotels
Better than I was expecting. I liked the little living room/ kitchenette area where my family and I can relax before going to bed. The neighborhood was excellent. Lots of convenience stores, drugstores and shopping in the area. The beach was only half mile away. Unfortunately, I was with two seniors who can't walk too much, so i was unable to take advantage of it. Whenever I come back to LA, I will probably stay there.

Good hotel close to LAX

Posted Apr 29, 2015
Pros: Comfort. Price.
Location: Best to have a car, although within a mile there is a shopping centre and restaurants .
I enjoyed my time at the Hawthorn Suites. It looks not so good from the outside, but once inside it is great. Large room with comfortable bed, a separate lounge area, desk and kitchen. The bathroom was good, with the best bath/shower combo I have seen. Staff very friendly. There is free breakfast daily which I thought was quite good. The location is on a busy street and it has been said you can walk to Manhattan Beach. It is a LONG way to walk. If you have a car you will enjoy your stay a lot and there is free parking underground. without a car I would find it very restrictive to get around. All in all, good value, clean and good location for exploring LA whilst being close to airport.

Siisti perushotrlli hyvällä paikalla

Posted Apr 29, 2015 on Hotels
Todella siisti perushotelli kohtuuhintaan. Helppo tulla lentokentältä, hyvä autotalli! Alue rantaan päin todella kiva ja Manhattan beach ihana. Aamupala ok. Huoneet vähän pimeät, suosittelen 102: Valoisampi, Rauhallinen, pesula ja kuntosali vieressä. Kadun nelut ei kuulu, vaikka 1.krs. Jos ei odota luksusta, hyvä hotelli. Oltiin 3 yötä.
