Close to Westwood and UCLA.Posted Jan 11, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff and convenient location.
Location: Westwood had shops, restaurants, a museum, and movies-- all within easy walking distance. We barely touched the car except to go to the airport.
We walked everywhere!

Convenient to UCLA Med CenterPosted Oct 17, 2013
Pros: Location and most important it has FREE parking - in and out when you want. Other hotels charge up to $30 a day with their valet service.
Location: Convenient to Wilshire, Westwood, the whole area.
Hilgard House is a small, very nice hotel adjacent to UCLA Med Center. It backs up to Tiverton House where our friends were staying while being treated. Room was excellent, had all the amenities we would want. Clean, comfortable and quiet.

Close to the Getty Museum.Posted Jul 14, 2013
Pros: Close to the Getty museum, the continental breakfast, walking distance to restaurants, its comfy, its charming old, and I feel safe there.
Cons: Changing the channel on the remote was difficult.
Location: Restaurants within walking distance, a few minutes from the Getty museum.
We come down every year to go to Laguna Beach for the Pagent of the Masters, and to shop at the craft fairs that are down there. We like to stop off in LA to go to the Getty Museum, and break up the long drive from the Bay area. This hotel is charming, the people are very friendly, the continental breakfast is very good, the location is within walking distance from the restaurants, and its a few minutes drive to the Getty. I will want to stay here every year from now on.

An old but disappointing hotel ....Posted Jun 29, 2012
Cons: Not kept up
Location: Convenient to Westwood Village, CA
The hotel is well-situated in Westwood Village, CA. It's just right around the corner from the Village's shops, restaurants, movie theaters and other attractions. But the hotel is old and has not been kept up. It would appear the owners have been hesitant to invest in the property over the years. There's nothing wrong with "old," of course. But in this case, "old" also means stains on the carpets and in the bathroom, a creaking bed frame, a rather small and equally unclean lobby, etc. The area behind the front desk is even in worse condition than the room we slept in. If I were to travel to this area on my own and staying only a couple of nights, I guess it would be ok. But if I were traveling again with my wife, I'd choose another hotel nearby, even at a higher cost.

great getaway!!!Posted Apr 2, 2012
Pros: front desk helpfulness
Cons: can't think of any-
Location: easy walk to westwood blvd.situated in a beautiful, safe area
the front desk was wonderful. very helpful for all questions about the area. recommended a great place to eat for my wife's birthday and without asking made a reservation! indoor parking was a plus but only park SUV in upper garage, lower was too low(i didn't read their sign and had a challenge backing up but added flavor to the stay) room was dated but everything worked and it was immaculately clean. the kingsize bed was very comfortable. would stay there with no reservation. many sites are easy to walk to.

LOVED this hotel!Posted Dec 31, 2010
We LOVED this hotel!! It reminded me of the boutique hotels I have stayed at in Europe. Our room was very comfortable with a very large bathroom. The staff was very helpful & friendly. They offer covered free parking (most hotels in the area charge at least $25. a day!), & a generous comp. continental breakfast! The location is in Westwood Village, walking distance to shops & movies. We will stay here again for sure, don't change a thing!

Good bargain for UCLA visitorsPosted Dec 8, 2010
I stayed one night while visiting UCLA for an interview. The price was right, room was clean, wireless was functional, staff was friendly and courteous. The proximity to UCLA medical center and Westwood restaurants/shops was unbeatable. The only cons were that the hotel was fairly small and could use some updating of furntiure.

Quiet and good locationPosted Jul 2, 2010
This was a lovely, quiet hotel. Room was smallish but on the 3rd floor and fine for 1 person. Ceiling fan and white noise type desk fan made for great sleeping. Great flat screen TV PC in lobby to use free of charge, I printed my boarding pass with no charge.
