Great hotel

Posted Jun 29, 2015
We actually booked this hotel because the hotel we originally had was awful. Although it was a little pricey for a last minute stay, it was totally worth it. The hotel was beautiful & very clean. View of the U.S. bank building was great. Just FYI parking is $24. And valet is $42.

Nice hotel in downtown L.A.

Posted Jun 25, 2015
Pros: Great food, great room. Service was prompt and with a smile.
Cons: The writing desk was placed in an odd place between the bed and the TV, not sure how to fix that given the room shape. Perhaps move it lengthwise.
Location: We had to be up at dawn and did not leave the hotel that evening to explore.
The hotel exceeded our expectations in style and luxury. Even with just regular a single king room, the layout was impressive and the view of buildings downtown made for some great pictures. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant followed by drinks at the bar, and while pricey, the food was excellent and the atmosphere was very comfortable. This is a nice little escape from the hustle and bustle just outside the lobby doors on the streets. The roof top veranda was reserved for a wedding, so I was unable to check that area out.

Downtown Urban Jewel

Posted Jun 9, 2015
Pros: Great location. Clean and tidy.
This hotel has a terrific Penthouse featuring a jacuzzi, chairs for sunbathing and a fantastic view of downtown Los Angeles from about 13 stories up. Conveniently located just one block from the Central Library and Maguire Gardens, you're just a 5 minute walk to Pershing Square and Bunker Hill. Upon entering the lobby, you'll be greeted by a friendly staff when you check in to the Hilton Checkers. The folks at the front desk were very accommodating - gladly printing out airline boarding passes for us while we were at the theatre. The restaurant service was quick and efficient and the food was delicious, especially the fresh fruit with the Belgian waffles. Our room was clean and tidy, albeit a bit small, but overall a good value. The front desk was gracious about giving us a 30 minute grace period for checking out past the noon deadline. We've stayed twice now at the Hilton Checkers and will definitely come back again.

The room was ok for Los Angeles, fairly basic.

Posted Jun 6, 2015
Pros: It was close to the location of my event.
Cons: Have a better mattress. Inform guests about the parking situation. Have room spray.
Location: It was close to some clubs and restaurants, and to the freeway.
My mattress was kind of soft, which I did not like. The room had an old odor like the carpet needed to be shampooed. No breakfast amenities. It was good for one night in downtown. Parking is bad. Valet is expensive, self parking is expensive. Self parking lot does not belong to the hotel. I drove around the block looking for the hotel parking lot only to be told there is none, and to use the underground lot next to the hotel. Creepy.

Worst hotel in downtown LA!

Posted May 31, 2015
The staff at checkin was rude.she gave us a room with a window facing a building wall, so the room has very little sunlight. Luckily I only stayed for one night. The next morning when I was getting my things ready for check out and I accidentally left my eye glasses on the table. I called later in the day to ask if housekeeping has turn it in. The ladies at the front desk said they did not see any reports stating a eye glasses was found. I asked politely if they would go double check the room again, she said there is another person occuping the room right now. I feel that people at this hotel is not being honest and the location is located at a very shady area of downtown with lots of homeless outside. I have never stayed at a hotel in downtown LA with homeless people standing outside feeling totally unsafe. This was totally wasn't as I was expected for a 4 star expensive hotel. The room was not clean, towels has not been restocked after previous stay. The bed was half untucked in. I would rather pick Westin Bonaventure or Omni hotel in the downtown area at least I have never seem homeless standing in the front of the hotel, their rooms does feel like a 4 star hotel. They are worth every penny of your money and they have the best customer services.

Nice, smaller hotel near art and music

Posted May 31, 2015
Location: It's walking distance to the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Disney Concert Hall (designed by Frank Gehry). Several good places to eat near-by.
Small and friendly, with lounge and dining room for breakfast and dinner (usual hotel prices). Pleasant small lobby. The room was fine, although a view would have been great. I would stay there again on another visit to LA Downtown.

It was a great stay. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The only thing that was an issue was with the shower had a couple issues but sure it'll get fixed soon. The staff was great and very helpful. The bartender there was playing on her phone the whole time though, so don't go there if you stay.

Great location! Loved the valet because it was easy. I didn't have to think about parking my car on the busy street or in a parking lot.
