Great location! Loved the valet because it was easy. I didn't have to think about parking my car on the busy street or in a parking lot.

Wonderful hotel, great location.

Posted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff. Beautiful vintage building. Quiet and comfortable.
Cons: Not crazy about the piped in modern dance type music in the lounge, but that is just my personal taste.
Location: Central downtown location that is close to lots of excellent restaurants in every price range. Close to the very good Red Line subway system.
I would give this hotel the highest five star rating as I could find nothing to fault. Friendly, helpful staff. Quiet location with a lot going on in the area. Really comfortable bed and spacious, clean rooms. The Checkers restaurant downstairs is very good and there are lots of excellent restaurants nearby as is the Red Line subway. You do not need a car in this area as Hollywood, Pasadena and other areas are a short hop away on LA's underrated light rail system. The hotel is a nice vintage building in contrast to some of the tacky newer hotels in downtown. Classy place that may be the best value in the area. I will be back for sure.

Small Room

Posted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: For what you get it should be 1/2 the price you pay.
Location: It is downtown L.A. but not close the things we needed. Its a 20-30 min. to Staples and LA Convention Center.
The room was so small that it was claustrophobic. You could not even walk freely around the room. Horrible. I would never stay here again. $45 a day for parking... $10-15 for internet... the room was way over priced. I am certain I could have found a better room for $200+ a night. Neighbor not that great either. Tons of strange people loiter in front of the doors entrance.

smaller property, bigger value

Posted Apr 13, 2015
While the rooms are somewhat smaller than newer properties in DTLA, they are very functional and comfortable. The fitness center was exceptional for most hotels. Clean with high quality equipment. The bar/lounge was very nice for a quiet drink after a day out. Convenient parking garage next door can save money over valet if that suits your needs. Metro subway nearby; never had to move car in two day stay.

needs more

Posted Mar 31, 2015
It needs more lighting (day light) way to dim for my eyesight. Also it needs a pool not just a jacuzzi. Like really , when I was looking at pics I clearly saw one in the pic. It's 2015, Hilton or No it needs FREE WI-FI!

Betw The Walt Disney Concert Hall & Staples Center

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: Great staff. Easy access from the freeway.
Cons: The cost of the daily valet parking was more than a bit steep when you account for all the gratuities that go with it.
Location: A number of French restaurants were nearby that were exceptionally pleasant to eat at.
I think the hotel was a treasure at one time. It appears a lot of money has been spent on its upkeep and many of its older features are marble, etc. At the same time it occasionally shows its age, for instance in the bathroom fixtures. I think its one of the nicest places to stay in the neighed, an area which I found safe and easy to walk around.

Very minimal facilities. Not even a minibar or small refrigerator in room. Room was too cramped for price

Nice Stay

Posted Mar 6, 2015
Pros: Food, Bed, and Staff
Cons: The amount for parking.
Location: It was in walking distance to the staple center and Macy's
The stay was great. I really enjoyed the room services and the bed felt great. You are in walking distance to everything in downtown LA. The only negative is the amount for parking....

3 star hotel masquerading as a 4 star

Posted Feb 24, 2015
Pros: Bed and bedding.
Cons: A lot. See above.
I travel a lot for business, and I would not recommend this hotel. It's old and not upgraded and the bathroom and room were not up to my cleanliness standards. There was schmootz on the toilet seat, the bathroom seemed unclean and there were crumbs on the desk. The bed and bedding were nice and the only positive aspect. There was also loud banging upstairs and outside my door late at night and early morning, which woke me up. Would not recommend.
