Great locationPosted Mar 12, 2014
Pros: The bed was super comfortable! The food was yummy as well.
Cons: Could be cleaner. I am a picky about that, and we have a baby.. so that is a big one for us.
Location: 5 miles from all major Hollywood attractions.
We booked this hotel for the weekend, having never been to the Hollywood area before. The hotel is nice. Has modern furnishing, and very pleasant staff. We arrived early and were able to get checked in. It looks a bit more luxurious on line, but definitely a great value for the area. The food was good. The only downsides for us was the noise from the hall traffic and doors shutting was a bit loud, and the room wasn't as clean as I would have liked. (Bathroom tile was dirty, and corners of room could have been vacuumed a bit better. This hotel is pretty much 5 miles from all of the major attractions, so that was extremely convenient. If we ever came back to the area, we would stay again.

Pros: Balcony room that had everything we needed and we a quiet place for much needed rest.
Cons: While we could complain about having to valet park, for our needs it was one more detail that made this trip easier.
Location: We didn't spend much time in the area but when we did, we found excellent dining.
We were in Los Angeles for the worst reason we could be there. Without going into detail, I can only say that everyone at this hotel anticipated every need before we even thought we had them. From check-in to walking into our lovely room (we said we needed TLC at the front desk and were upgraded to a balcony room) to our so kind housekeeper, we got the attention these two weary travelers needed. While we didn't have the opportunity to dine here, other than breakfast room service which was lovely, the attention and witty conversation at the bar was just what our doctor ordered. Every staff member was amazing.

Stellar !Posted Feb 6, 2014
The staff are wonderful and the proximity to freeways and burbank airport and studios is ideal for anyone who knows LA and needs to get around using the 134 or the 5 in a rental car. The fitness centre and pool are deserted in the morning so workouts are a breeze. The valets are wonderful , the housekeeping staff goes the extra mile, and the front desk are really welcoming , as are the servers from the in room dining and lounge .

Awful management!Posted Jan 11, 2014
We were mistakenly scheduled to stay an extra day. When we approached the staff about it at the time they said we had to talk to the management Laura. The staff said she wasn't there and for us to call. I tried to call.four times but she wasn't available. On the fifth call I got her and she said they have a no reimbursement policy. No exceptions! The hotel had scheduled us for two rooms for one night that we were not there. They charged around $500.00 and there was no way we could stay since we had to catch a plane. I feel like they were crooked and had very poor customer service. BEWARE!

Very clean, comfortable boutique , hotel .Posted Jan 11, 2014
Pros: Location to Pasadena and room.
Cons: See above.
Location: Close proximity to Pasadena and production sets.
Very satisfied in general.Only negative is exorbitant fee for parking. Also, seemed to be short staffed in dining room as waiter did everything alone to serve entire room.

Beautiful Hotel - highly recommendedPosted Jan 10, 2014
Pros: Everything (because we didn't park in their garage).
Cons: just the non-functional phone
Location: Location seemed just fine.Stayed in the room the entire time. Waited too late to get food at other restaurants so ended up with Bobs Big Boy (24 hour)
I paid the cheaper price for a 4 star hotel without knowing which one it was and got the Hotel Amarano. Score. Read the Yelp reviews and parked on the street instead of paying the exorbitant parking price. Parking was very close by - not a problem - though we did arrive early, at 12 noon. The staff were very accommodating trying to get us into a room for an early check-in. The hotel was full the night before because of a football game so they couldn't make any promises, but got us into a room around 1:30 and didn't charge us extra. Across the street was a fun dive bar called Sardos where we passed the time. The only problem with the room was that the phone was not working at all when we went to call the front desk. Otherwise our stay was perfect. Would return.

Manager not available - she's really stressed..Posted Jan 6, 2014
I called twice before arriving to ensure my reservation for 2 double beds was clearly noted. Both times I was told "no problem - yes, you have 2 doubles" Spoke with Bruce en route and was assured that a 4:30 arrival was just fine. We arrived at 4:30 - a few people checking in - and Bruce says " I had to put you in a king - with a roll away" when I reminded him of our conversation, he said " I gave you 2 beds - what's your problem". A very excellent front desk girl (Molly?) went back to speak to the manager for us - since mgr was too " stressed" to speak to us. Bruce left his customer, ran to the back and came out announcing HE fixed it. He said I was LUCKY that a earlier check in didn't like the room and was only in it an hour. What the hell? I reminded him that I was not lucky - I had put a lot of effort in my reservation - and he said - no, your lucky, many times two beds means a roll away...clueless. Rude. I called twice from my room to speak to the manager - Bruce said "Laurie is too busy today - try her another time."
