Fantastic location, good proximity to the beach.Posted Mar 11, 2014
Pros: The rooftop bar was fantastic, even at night they give you blankets to cozy up with and the views were amazing. Barlo, their restuarant was so good!
Location: Short walk to the "Canals" area which was lovely. The color and characters on the boardwalk nearby was hilarious.
If you're a nervous traveller and don't like a little grunge in your area around your hotel, this is not the hotel for you. But the hotel itself was clean, comfortable and the staff were so accomodating.

Nice hotel, great locationPosted Mar 9, 2014
Cons: After sales service
Location: Great roof top bar, proximity to Venice Beach and Boardwalk
My husband and I stayed for the weekend with our son and daughter-in-law. The room was fine and staff were very good. Location was excellent. After we left I realised I had left 3 pairs of new shoes in a bag at reception. I had already travelled north and when I phoned the hotel, the guy on reception, Matt, was not very helpful. He did not connect me with housekeeping, I had to phone back twice, and he never returned my call. Eventually my daughter-in-law went to the hotel and was still dismissed by Matt, but she refused to leave and eventually the shoes were recovered. Not great after sales service!

Nice hotel, beach close, noisy on w/ePosted Mar 2, 2014
Cons: Food options, room servicing, more accessible and less expensive parking, elevator for patrons of hotel rooms vs rooftop bar
Location: Beach has a colorful crowd
Hotel and amenities nice and modern, staff very nice, close walk to beach, noisy and crowded on w/e because of popular rooftop bar, food options limited and not health oriented both on site and nearby. Valet parking service mandatory and expensive, but excellent.

Great location, close to beach and great staffPosted Feb 28, 2014
Pros: Friendly Staff, secure parking, modern décor and close to the beach
Cons: The hotel has a rooftop bar, which is great! But real expensive, and not a lot of choices, with a lot of locals showing up
Location: We did a lot of walking to locations, restaurants of all kinds on either side of the hotel, amusement park with a few rides, lot of local shops
I have never been to CA, and was looking for a location close to the beach, restaurants, was updated, and within a budget. The Erwin had all the above, the staff was really friendly, the hotel is in great condition, and the views are amazing. Even if you don't have an ocean view the views of the buildings around the hotel are amazing as well.

Pleasant and trendy hotel in Venice downtownPosted Feb 18, 2014
We spent two nights with our three children. It is rather a hotel for hipe young people but it was fun to spend these two days in this environment that was unconventional to us. It was very lively. The staff is friendly and the rooms are modern and clean. Of course, people who select this hotel have to like Venice and its particular atmosphere. It is a mix of 'bohemian-style', young fancy, surfer people with many homeless as well. When you go running along the beach on the morning, it is stunning to see all these homeless who spent the night along the beach. The sad side of America is mingled with the happy feisty one...

Great place, Be careful on reservations thoughPosted Feb 18, 2014
Pros: View, room, location
Cons: how they handle customers when they overbook rooms
Location: Go eat breakfast at the sidewalk cafe! lattes were amazing, so were the omelettes and venice potatoes.
BE CAREFUL about your reservation, the front desk told me (lied) they were "upgrading" me to a "suite" upon check-in. Realistically they were downgrading me from an ocean view room (great view) to partial ocean view room (poor view), the rooms were IDENTICAL on the inside. When I told the guy I wanted my reserved room, he gave it to me but pushed the guilt onto me telling me he can put me there but he'll have to tell some other person they'll have to downgrade. That's not my problem and shouldn't have been put on me. Terrible way to handle customers. Other than that, the place was in a great location and had a great view if you get the full ocean view rooms. Valet was quick and nice. I recommend eating at the sidewalk cafe down the beach for breakfast, remarkable.
