Why I would choose the Hotel Maya for all my stays

Posted May 5, 2014
Pros: The location on the water. The good food and service. The warn cookies, too.
Cons: A shiels on the tennis lights that directs the light downward so it does not shine in the rooms. They go off at 10 pm so not a huge deal.
Location: I was there for a convention so I was aware of the bus that could take us places and the proximity to so much in the area.
For business it was so relaxing to get away fromn the hubub of the Convention Center. There are excellect restaurants with great food and relaxing atmosphere. There are so many pleaseant places to just relax, watch the water, have a drink. I want to add that I have some disabilities needs and Alex and Vasela were such an incredible help: from Alex helping me at booking to his guiding the lost taxi driver at 10 pm arrival. I felt safe and cared for no matter where I was on the lush hotal grounds. I fully intend to return at some point for vacation. I want to get my grandchildren and sons and their wives together for a vacation time. There is something for everyone and like I stated above very soothing and relaxing at the end of the day. Thank you for a the excellent service and care to all the staff!

Vesela front desk staff was exceptional

Posted May 4, 2014
Pros: We ate at the restaurant and had the best veggie tacos ever! Staff all around was great.
Cons: Tell guest about parking lot renovations or any other well in advance.
Location: Aquarium, beaches, Queen Mary, restaurants. Venice, Universal Studios.
We were a little disappointed with our room the first night. While in the lobby the next day, Vesela asked how are stayed was and we told her about the view from our room. She quickly looked up available rooms and switched us right then. And she was very pleasant on check in and throughout our stay. Housekeeping did an exceptional job. Anything we asked for they went above and beyond. Our view was fabulous and all staff was very friendly.

Off the beaten path but great for the price.

Pros: The hotel reminded me of a small resort that I enjoyed while in Mexico - my daughter loved the warm cookies...all day long. The staff was attentive.
Cons: The space that is in the center of the tower/building were the rooms are located - this area could use some landscaping and upkeep.
Location: The location is in an industrial area so it's not very inviting - I honestly did not venture into Long Beach.
I traveled to LA with my daughter and I wanted to stay outside the city and this place was perfect. It was like staying on a little resort in Mexico. The rooms were clean, pool area was nice and the staff friendly. The only drawback is the industrial area - but in all honesty once you're there it doesn't matter. I would book this place again.

great views of Long Beach skyline

Posted Apr 27, 2014
Pros: fire pit, free chocolate chip cookies, clean bathrooms
Location: Queen Mary and 710 freeway was very close by
Beautiful venue at night with awesome fire pit with cozy seating near the water. Also, loved the warm chocolate chip cookies upon checking in! Room was super clean and bathroom was modern and clean. Didn't care for the location of the hotel unless you plan to leave on the cruise ships immediately before or after your vacation. This hotel was very close to Queen Mary and 710 freeway. This hotel was less accessible to walking and sightseeing.

Pros: Excellent rooms, beds with comfortable mattresses and nice balcony.
Cons: Room with sight to sea would be great.
Excellent location direct at the beach with sandy lounge area and campfire in the evening. Just great! Lovely pool with nice spa. Queen Mary for a walking trip nearby. We've just enjoyed our stay!

Overall good experience

Posted Apr 20, 2014
Made reservations approximately 6 weeks prior to stay for 1 King bed with water front view. Upon arrival, we were given a room facing the freeway with slight view of water and 2 smaller beds. I was told by the front desk all the King bed rooms were sold out. They moved us to a better location facing the shoreline village but still no King bed. We kept this room and made the best out of it. Loved the heated tile floor in the bathroom and the cookies at the front desk. Overall good experience with Hotel Maya. Will stay again in the future.

AMAZING!!!!

Pros: Parking close to my room, the view out to the water, the food, the staff, EVERYTHING
Cons: They need to have a vent for the bathroom. It gets very muggy afterwards.
Location: You can walk to all kinds of attractions!
Loved this hotel. The food was great, room was beautiful and I loved having my own little backyard. Walking distance to everything. I love this place!!!
