Bathroom makeover.Posted Jun 20, 2014
Pros: The front desk clerk tried to accommodate us.
Cons: Just about everything
Location: Right off freeway. Great Thai restaurant.
Our bathroom had been converted for handicap person. It was done on the cheap. The water flowed towards the sink and toilet. Even after you showered you were still standing in water. The manager came at one point and snaked the drain but that was not the problem. The floor was sloped wrong. Shower curtain was hung on a water pipe. As soon as some water did get into the drain it began to smell. The under side of the sink area was not finished. There were foam padding around the drain pipe and another peace that was supposed to hide the area directly under the sink. Cannot recommend this hotel nor will we stay here again.

Not so nice stay....Posted Jun 15, 2014
The front desk staff was pleasant. The hotel hallway smelled very musty and stale. The room was barely clean.. The sheets were bleached and clean but I was fearful of sitting on the bedspread or even putting my bags on the floor.

Older than appears on pictures.Posted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: It was quiet, plenty of parking.
Cons: Update website pictures so people know what they are getting.
Location: Close to mall and easy freeway access.
Although hotel is older, it was neat and clean, very spacious rooms.

Conveniently located near I10 and Western UPosted Apr 23, 2014
Pros: Conveniently located to I10 and Western University
Cons: The whole place needs to be renovated and updated.
Location: There is a restaurant and convenience store in the parking lot.
This facility is rather dated and a little run down. The room was fine, however the TV reception was horrible. If you're looking for a pretty cheap place to stay and don't care too much about the age of the place, then this would work. The "continental breakfast" was ok. There was no hot food to speak of, packaged muffins, bagels, and danish. Hard boiled eggs, fruit, coffee, juice and milk. The staff spoke little English.

Request a room away from the highwayPosted Mar 10, 2014
It is right on the highway, so be sure to request a room away from the highway, on the pool side. You can still hear the cars but it's not as bad. I was expecting the worst as it's not a top hotel, but it was perfectly fine - clean, comfortable and nothing fancy.

Claremont Hotel, the price right the amenities notPosted Feb 19, 2014
Pros: It was cheap. About $58-68 per night . Close to Claremont Colleges and accessable for the Parent Weekend. It could have easil been a bit more inviting
Cons: Fix small broken fixtures in the rooms. Have pool hours and invite guests to use it instead of locking it and making a big deal to get to use the pool
Location: Near Claremont and the 10. So the Claremont Consortium and The Village are close.
There were lots of little inconveniences. Rooms we so noisy on the highway side. All the single bed rooms were on the highway side so I had to pay extra to go to the pool side where it was quiet. The water temperature adjustment valve on the tub was extremely hard to adjust. The closure and lock on the balcony door was completely broken. The signage was poor, it was hard to find your way around. Things like that but. . .The craziest thing for me was that the pool was locked all the time and there were no pool hours. The first day there, I went out to check out the pool and found that there was a flexible bike lock on the gate. It was about 9 o'clock in the morning so I decide to go to the office and see when the pool would be opened. I went back to the building doors and they were both locked and there were no locks on them that could be opened with your room key. I was locked out of the pool and locked out to the hotel. I did not know what to do. I walked around the outside pool fence hoping for an open gate. All the gates were locked. I thought about climbing over the fence but it was a bit tall. I thought about calling the hotel office. I had my phone. I went back to the doors and pounded on them hoping someone nearby could come to help. As I pounded on the one solid door with no door handle I saw it move a bit and so I pulled the edge with my fingertips to open it. Why not have hours and someone to open and close the pool area? Families wanted to go in but it was locked.

Decent hotel close to the freeway.Posted Jan 28, 2014
Pros: Location. Proximity to I-10. And the price of the rooms was good for the area.
Location: The hotel could use a good power washing. There was a large stash of cardboard boxes near the room entrance that seemed to grow bigger daily.
Stayed for 3 nights. Hotel is older and it is starting to show its age a bit. Room was very clean. If you don't want to hear freeway noise then this hotel is not for you. Our room was on the second floor literally 30 feet from the freeway entrance. The only hotel staff we saw was the front desk lady. She was very nice and got us checked in quickly.
