Nice hotel in a convenient locationPosted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: Although on a busy road the rooms were quiet
Cons: The pool looked very murky
Location: For us the attraction was the NASA JPL facility. Hotel is in a student area, lots of takeaway & fast food outlets but also very nice Fish restaurant
We needed a hotel in Pasadena and struck lucky with this one, we had two suites and both were spacious and clean and came with 2 televisions, a fridge and a microwave. The bathroom was a little small. The free breakfast was nice although the room was a little small.

Good location but...Posted May 23, 2014
Staff attention was good, but room carpets were really old and dirty. Rooms smelled old and humid. Good parking, good location in a safe area.,

Great pet friendly hotelPosted May 12, 2014
I stayed here with my partner and our cat while we were looking for an apartment in the area. Staff were exceptional in accommodating us as our plans changed. Originally were booked for 6 nights, ended up staying for double that time but the front desk staff were always friendly and happy to help us. The carpets in our room were shabby and dirty. My white cat ended up with black paws from the carpet after just a few days, but we understand that this was a pet friendly room so it didn't bother us too much I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. It is in a great location - very quiet and comfortable! The free breakfast is an added bonus!

Great place to stay in PasadenaPosted May 5, 2014
Pros: Lovely spot. Well equipped room. Solid wi-fi. Every staff person was great/helpful.
Cons: Some yogurts at breakfast (they had hard boiled eggs and apples/bananas, otherwise all carbs).
RIght on Colorado Blvd, across from PCC. Restaurants in walking distance. Small but nice pool. Nice little breakfast (sufficient). Room was kept clean and well by hotel staff. Room had fridge, microwave, hair dryer, coffee maker. Front desk was very helpful.

Rooms facing E Colorado Blvd are only good for Rose Parade. It's quite noisy from traffic and City College.

Nice view from my room : mountains and college !Posted Apr 24, 2014
Decent rooms, clean, though breakfast is pretty poor. A lot of car repair pleases around ) That was gods for traveling in a car.

Cheap place near CaltechPosted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: Location and price.
Location: Old Pasadena is about two miles away. Caltech is about 1.5 blocks away.
The hotel is nothing special, but the price was good. Bed was comfortable and there wasn't too much noise. Shower faucet was a bit messed up (hot and cold reversed). Breakfast was not great, but free with the room.

Traveling to Las Vegas. A good stay at Pasadena HJPosted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: It has a good Location. Staff was very friendly and give us information about the area and about our trip. Room have enough space and are very clean.
Cons: May be the air freshner odor. We don't like it too much but it is very subjective and personal, so not much.
Location: Great location, near everything but not noisy.
We just used this Howard Johnson Hotel to spend the night at our trip form LA to Las Vegas. We have an late flight from Paraguay and decide to stay at Pasadena to avoid a night trip`after a long plane flight. This Hotel, for us, acomplished the mission. We could have a good night spleed in the way. The staff is friendly, the rooms were clean and beds are good. Showers too. Everything worked properly and the Hotel was near to several places to eat. So we certainly could give them a C+, approved.

Nice hotel, clean, safe and comfortablePosted Apr 11, 2014
Pros: Location, amenities, free parking, free breakfast.
We spent one night here when traveling to LA for the Dodgers home opener. This hotel was very clean, rooms were comfortable and offered a fridge and microwave in the room. We had 3 adults and one small child in one room and we did not feel over crowded or anything since the room was a decent size. The hotel is also located in a nice part of Pasadena.
