“Extremely impressed with this LA gem”
This hotel exceeded my expectations! It was in a great location, very clean, very convenient, and the service was excellent. I would recomment this hotel to any and all of my closest friends, and cannot wait to visit LA again because of how great the Hyatt made my experience there. Everybody was friendly and helpful, and the hotel was beautiful and in a very safe, corporate neighborhood. Their pool is beyond amazing, and there is a mall/shopping center across the street which had everything from shopping, to restaurants, to movies literally right at my doorstep. The Hyatt provided everything I needed and more!
“My favorite hotel in L.A.”
I've stayed here a few times and here are some things I like about the hotel. The lobby- I love the lobby with its high ceilings and fabulous bar area. The bar is right in the middle so people are walking by and it has great energy. There is also Club X if you want a more club/bar feel but I like the lobby bar. It's pricey, but if you can afford $20 for an appetizer and $10-$15/drink then you'll love it because of the atmosphere and the food is great. Outside is a cool outdoor seating area and a pool and spa. The rooms are what you'd expect from a 5 star hotel- all have patios and good views, either of the pool or out front of the hotel. They have snack bars in the room and nice TV's and bathrooms. I stayed in a penthouse here once and it was amazing- huge spaces decorated very nice with artwork, nice furniture and seating area and fresh flowers. There is also a Hertz car rental right in the hotel. Valet is $36/day (with in/out) Right across the street is a mall with movie theater and nice shops.
“Great location and will visit again.”
Wonderful place to stay
“A nice surprise”
Much better than I expected and good value for money. The place looked dated (1960s/1970s) from the pictures of the outside, but has actually been very well refurbished inside. The rooms where large and roomy and have nice views and a balcony. Condition of the facilities overall was high. Very nice outdoor area and large pool. Location in Century City is quite central if you need to really get around LA. There is a good shopping center within 5 minute walking distance of the hotel, which is very convenient for shopping when you don't have much time. Freeway entrance to I-10 is about 10 minutes away by car. I had read a lot of negative reviews about the valet parking, but did not experience this in person. We stayed three nights and the car was pulled up within 10 minutes of asking each time we asked. Overall, our stay there was good value for money.
“Nice hotel in central location”
Great hotel, great price, great facilities. Valet parking takes A LONG TIME. Other than valet, great place and very close to many places in LA including Century City mall, Fox, 405 and 10 highways.
“Very quite area, great hotel”
Very quite area, and great location far from traffic, great room and service, good breakfast and also starbucks at lobby, great welcome. It's great to book
“Nice hotel”
The hotel is right next to the Century City Mall.
“Stay Again”
Good location and very helpful staff.
“CENTURY PLAZA ALWAYS DELIVERS”
This is about the 3rd time i've stayed here this year. Just happens to be close in proximity to my workplace. I am able to attend events at my work and rather than face a long drive home, i am able to book a room at the Century Plaza just for the one night...so convenient to have a high-class hotel so close. Of course, this time i booked in August, and their price was up $70.00, Ugh! The check-in service was friendly. The room was clean and the bed--oh, so comfortable! Normally i order room service--love their hot apple pie a la mode! But this time I did not. When i mentioned to my colleagues that i had booked a room there, all of them were impressed!! Love this hotel!
“A perfect home base in Los Angeles”
In my eyes, this is the perfect spot to stay in L.A. The hotel is clean, well-appointed, renovated rather recently, and marvelously located. You can feel the charm of the past -- the 60s-era building is designated as historic -- but everything is modern and up-to-date. Good-sized infinity pool and jacuzzi in the back with plenty of lounges in the great Southern California sun. Nice bars, including the one where Phil and Claire show up on the Valentine's Day episodes of Modern Family. Century City is quiet by evening but is close to everything. The only drawback is if you're in L.A., you have to drive, and if you stay at this fantastic hotel, you really have to valet park, which is $36/night. Well worth it, nonetheless. I'm also fond of the Intercontinental down the street (which used to be a Park Hyatt, and this confuses everybody) ... but having stayed at both locations, I prefer the Hyatt Century Plaza. Its rooms are more recently renovated, and beyond that, the air-conditioning/heat systems at the Century Plaza are far quieter and more efficient. In other words, a great place to come home to and sleep well after a day full of playing out in fabulous L.A. I'd gladly come back to this property again and again.
