Great location in downtown long beach. Walking distance to most spots. Room was large and clean. Hotel would be great for all occasions.

We stayed one night. The hotel is nice and big. Only the bathroom was small and no lock on its door.

Great location, Terrible staff.

Posted Jul 27, 2015
We drove from San Diego to Long Beach to attend a event in south LA. When we arrived to the hotel, we were dressed very casual, and woman at the desk looked at us incredulously. It got worse when she found out that our reservation was in a different last name. I had my U.S. Passport, American Express platinum card, and Expedia itinerary number with conformation email. But she insisted that hotel is full, that she needed to check with the manager if we can stay, and basically treated us like criminals. We reserved a double bed room, but the room wasn't ready so she asked if we'd wait or put us in a kind bed room. She mentioned that the hotel was busy because there were a lot of people who were there for a dance event. But what does it have to do with us? We are less important than other guests? Adding to our irritation, she said she is going to "comp" our parking fee. But parking fee was already in my hotel charge. At this point, we were tired, disgusted, and just wanted to go up to the room and rest, so we just took the keys. The hotel was clean and in good location. But we think we'd have a better customer service experience at any other places with half the price.

Nice Hotel. Poorly Managed

Posted Jul 22, 2015
Pros: Clean rooms, beautiful views, and close to a lot of attractions.
Cons: The management needs to be improved, and aware of events going on. Everyone seemed very overwhelmed and had no idea how to handle customers properly.
Location: Paddle boats outside hotel, Laugh Factory and Aquarium in walking distance. $15 cab ride to the bay on 2nd street.
My Fiancé and I traveled from Buffalo to Long Beach with his brother and my friend. We were supposed to have two(2) rooms with King Size beds. When I booked the room online, the website said "*no joining rooms", so I figured they would just put us in rooms next to each other as I booked at least two weeks in advance. When we arrived in Long Beach I called the Hotel and asked if we could check in early, as it was around 11am. The representative that I spoke to told me that we could not check in early, and had to be there at 3pm to check in. We arrived promptly at 3pm to long lines and a full lobby because of a wedding that was going on. When I got to the desk to check in, they told us that our rooms would not be ready until at least 5pm! After an hour I checked for an update, they told me that they could give me a room on the 15th floor, but the second room would be on the 9th floor and still isn't ready. We decided to wait it out for our rooms to be ready on the same floor. Finally, they told us that one of the room is ready, but the other STILL isn't ready and wont be for about an hour. When we arrived to our room, I was surprised to see that there was a conjoining door to the next room! I went back down to the front desk to tell them how upset we all were with this entire situation. The front desk manager told us he was new and is doing his best. He gave us a total of $225 in room service to split between the two rooms. At check out they tried to charge us for it

Hotel is nice, room is clean and roomy. Closer to restaurants, beach and the Aquarium of the Pacific. Waking distance to everything.

Cons: Service time in the restaurant could be improved.
Location: The location is next to the Convention Center, near the Aquarium and near a tourist type "seaside village" attraction.
Everything was very attractive. I was not there for a convention so the location was less than ideal. Service in the restaurant was very friendly but slow. I would go back again to give the restaurant another try as the food was imaginative and well prepared.

no communication

Posted May 26, 2015
Pros: The View, however the Marriott seems to have the same view, and next time I will stay there.
Cons: communication to the guest, and accommodate them when you have inconvenienced them.
Location: Bubba Gumps is close to the convention and a great dinning experience
Ordered online, nowhere did it say there was a race going on. I physically couldn't get to the hotel till almost 8pm. Then security had the nerve to kick us out of the pool at midnight, we would of swam sooner however you literally couldn't get to the hotel because there was a race track around it. No discounts for inconvenience and no prior notice, and not understanding, also didn't comp the $30 parking I had to pay for 7 hours elsewhere because I couldn't get to their parking lot. Then they charge $30 a night parking for GUEST. Never will I stay at a Hyatt again. Felt like I was staying at a super 8 with the service I got. You pay more you expect better service.
