Nice, big hotel

Loved the super quick check in and check out - shower is OK - not the best water pressure . $42 to park is a bit rich, but valet is quick, easy and super friendly. All staff really nice and competent - exactly what you pay for. Love being able to walk outside to la live . Easy taxi ride to shrine auditorium.

Family trip to JW Marriott

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: I was looking forward to the pool and to the location for great places to eat but never saw any of it.
Cons: Their booking or over booking of the hotel and the staff at check in if things don't work out - maybe have some suggestions, maybe apologize.
Location: No shops, great location to Staple Center and convention center, great places to eat.
Unfortunately we never got to see the inside of the room or what the pool looked like. We were on a family vacation trip (4 people, 2 adults and 2 teenagers) we were looking forward to relaxing a couple of days by a nice pool and spending a little bit of time at Universal Studios and Beverly Hills but our plans blew up when we went to check in and the double room I had booked on Expedia was not available and the only room they had was a king room and they would give us a single rollaway bed for an additional $50/night. I was devastated, we were tired and it was an extremely busy time - I had spent hours going back and forth between booking hotels that had double bed rooms in Santa Monica or closer to Universal or Beverly Hills but decided on the JW Marriott. The gal at the registration desk was very unsympathetic and just stared at us when we said we couldn't fit basically 4 adults in 2 beds. She didn't offer an apology, didn't offer an alternate solution - was just amazingly cold and said, "Should I cancel your reservation?" I literally had tears in my eyes - all very stupid to get so upset over a hotel mishap but I knew our odds of finding a suitable hotel where slim to none. I would not book there again, I'm not sure if the mishap was Expedia or the hotel or both but the friendliness of the staff was unacceptable and I would not recommend this facility to anyone. We recovered and stayed at a not so great hotel that night but the next night upgraded to the Hyatt Century.

Perfect hotel to stay in downtown

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Location: perfect location and close to events center
Beautiful location and friendly staff. But i wish check-in front desk should have told me that the room I'm occupying is a handicap bathroom, no tub just shower with a seat. It was a late check-in so i was so tired to request for a different room. I got credit for a $42.00 valet parking so no big deal.

Our stay was amazing!!!! I felt rich the staff was amazing so professional and courteous. Everytime we arrived they welcomed us back. It's kind of pricey but well worth the money. I'm Considering renting a room at the J.W. Marriott in buckhead just when I feel I need alone time and stay local. Hopefully it's as awesome as J.W. Marriott LA Live.
