quiet, comfortable, convenient - has a gentle and subdued atmosphere, and comfortable rooms, all at a very reasonable price...

Close to the Sunset Blvd. and Santa Monica Blvd.Posted Oct 21, 2013
Cons: It was a bit noisy with our balcony facing the street. We could hear people valet parking their cars at all hours of the night.
We had a king suite, the room was huge. The dressing area located in our bathroom was a bonus it got used a lot.

Nice for the PricePosted Sep 25, 2013
Pros: The rooms are very large and everything worked (TVs, etc).
Cons: Climate control in the room. Having small sundries available (toothpaste, pain reliever, etc) would be a nice touch. Internet extremely slow.
Location: Seemed a bit isolated but that is ok since it was quiet. No real time to explore right around the hotel.
Overall a good experience, not great. Would recommend but if someone is looking for the ultimate in luxury this might not be the place. The rooms are large and relatively comfortable. The pool and jacuzzi area needs slightly better maintenance (especially near the jacuzzi) - rust stains and some mold embedded on the pool deck. Not to serious though and still comfortable and relaxing. At least they were not playing any music. Unfortunately, smoking on the pool deck is allowed so beware if that bothers you. Also, there is no place in the hotel or nearby (that I knew of anyway) to buy water and snacks although the hotel does have a mini-bar (not terribly expensive but still....). The A/C in my room was a little weak so if it were really hot out I would be concerned.

Excellent !!!Posted Sep 23, 2013
Pros: Location, Room, Customer Serivce
Location: Great for shopping, dinning, and nightlife
The location is central to nightlife, restaurants, shops. There is, as in most hotels, an overnight parking fee. I'm not sure why other reviewers were surprised by this or complained about the price since it was a standard amount. We also did not experience any weird smells, like I read in the other reviews, or have worn out furniture. The room was excellent. It is essentially a one bedroom apartment. Two TVs, fireplace, sofa, table, and kitchenette. It was so spacious, clean, and comfortable. I loved the room and it was worth every penny! The street is so close to everything, yet it was calm and quite. The service was great. We checked in late with Victor and he was so professional, friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable that my husband and I felt like we were VIP's. I will most definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Not a 4 star!!!Posted Sep 18, 2013
Bad smell upon entry of the room. (Smells like an old cabin in the woods.) Seemed to have cheaped out on the necessary reno's like upgraded tub and new cabinets in the kitchenette.( whoever got the contract for painting the old cabinets and doors should give up there day job my 12 year old could do a better job).....$36 A NIGHT FOR PARKING. Would be nice to know that before booking...... No cream or sugar for the coffee, I called down to the front desk to get some and nothing showed up. Left a note for housekeeping the next day along with a tip to get some cream and sugar for the next morning and only sugar was there when we returned to the room later that night :(. Heading to LA was just a side trip from vegas for two days. What I paid for the two nights in LA was only $50 less than what I had paid for 5 days hotel and car rental in vegas. Vegas hotel was much nicer in my books. Should have stayed in vegas. Sorry for my rant!!

Huge rooms great locationPosted Sep 11, 2013
Pros: Room sizes, awesome rooftop tennis court and pool
Cons: Service at the front desk
Location: 5 mins walk from sunset blvd - great location
We booked this place for 2 nights during our stay in LA. Rooms are spacious and ideal for those who want a bit of breathing space. Hotel staff aren't very friendly and could do more to make you feel welcome.

Great hotelPosted Sep 8, 2013
Cons: Nothing, it was great
Location: Up the road is Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, Universal Studios & when we had car hire we went to Malibu, The Griffith Observatory, The Sign
My parter & I stayed at the Le Montrose for 6 nights & it's by far been the best hotel we've stayed at so far on our month long trip. The staff are great, they cater to your needs, the rooms are spacious, the pool & hot tub area is great & this was the first hotel that actually had some weights in it for my partner to work out. There's always a cab outside available. Overall great experience & if you're staying in that area, definetly recommend this hotel. Car hire is a must though! Very big city.
