“Comfortable for Business”
I've been trying different hotels for a business trip I make to the area every other month. I really liked this hotel and location. The staff were very nice and the room was large, nicely decorated and the bed very comfortable. I'll be back.
“Nothing special ...”
Carpeting in the room was filthy ! Also, it was raining that day and the carpeting in the one corner of the room became squishy underfoot.. Apparently there was a good leak somewhere..
“Easy to access, good size rooms, peculiar valet”
We stayed for 4 nights at this hotel which is at the junction of 405 freeway and Sunset. Nice location indeed and easily accessible to Westwood, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, and Santa Monica. The rooms were spacious, with a nice terrace, generally quiet and clean. The spa and gym is very minimalistic. There is a small sauna and no steam room. The gym is also small with just a couple of cross trainers and a couple of treadmills. The pool is nice, warm and pleasant. It's open until 10pm which is suitable for a dip after a busy day out. For a hotel like this, a self-parking solution included in the room rate would have made more sense. It was valet-only and sometimes our car was just parked in front of us, but we had to request it and wait for it to be pulled out. Not very smart. Check in personnel were a bit pretentious, but that's part of the deal in that part of the city. Was amusing to see fake British accent to show how classy they are. All in all, it was a nice and memorable stay and we may come back in the future.
“Relaxing Retreat”
Beautiful hotel in a surprisingly quiet location. Fantastic experience with gorgeous accommodations. I rated the neighborhood a 3 just because we could see the 405 (though we couldn't hear traffic). Hotel staff was extremely courteous. Free valet (in and out privileges) was nice, but not particularly efficient the weekend we stayed. A great resort in the middle of a busy metropolitan area.
“Great Place”
Terrific location--one of very few hotels with a tennis court in the area. Nice pool. Terrific service.
“High quality hotel”
The Luxe Hotel Sunset Blvd staff was very welcoming and hospitable. The room was spacious, bright, and clean. They also let us have a late check out on our last day. Would definitely book at this hotel again.
“Good value for money.”
A nice hotel. Clean, modern, and well located for a short drive to the beach, universal studios, etc. Good service overall. The food in the restaurant was fairly well prepared but dishes were unusual and in my opinion over the top - 'pumpkin seed and sweet potato risitto' for example. Room service was quick but service in the restaraunt was slow. I would go back only because the price was appropriate and the hotel itself was well presented with a nice pool area and good decor throughout. The parking will cost you an additional $25 per night.
“Tokyo to LA - we like LUXE!”
Our overall experience at the LUXE Hotel Sunset Boulevard was very good. When we arrived, the valet staff and the front desk staff were courteous, swift and professional. We were shown to our rooms quickly and our luggage was promptly delivered. The rooms were spacious and nicely designed. The pool was tranquil and relaxing - a great place to enjoy the LA summer weather. Housekeeping always kept the rooms clean and tidy and provided nightly turn-down service which we appreciated. The only set-back was the Sunday Buffet Brunch. The food seemed old and stale: the salad was wilted; the bacon greasy and soft; most of the other offerings appeared past their shelf-life. The seat cushions for the restaurant were soiled and unpleasant to look at or sit on. Aside from the restaurant, our overall experience was very good.
“Perfect location to visit UCLA”
My first review disappeared, so I'll try again. LUXE Sunset was excellent in every way except the driveway (asphalt) leading to the entrance and (farther along) the Spa/Pool/Rooms. It is in deplorable condition, and detracts from the overall hotel stay. I'm happy I had a rental car because I wouldn't want to drive my own car over the huge potholes. Your survey didn't ask about the diningroom...the food was excellent and the service was outstanding!
“Not a return customer here”
above average decorations, rooms looked terrific, but the beds were very hard and not enough linens..the layout of the hotel made it difficult to access the amenities, unless you were ok with walking up and up and up a steep road. Ordered a lemon drop martini in the lounge area, they served it with salt.... guess its wine or nothing...
