“Pepperdine Parent”
Lovely boutique hotel with marvelous restaurant. Incomparable views of the ocean, minutes away from shopping and restaurants.
“This was a little oasis for me visiting family.........”
I was pleasantly surprised by the intimate greeting when driving up to park my car, and then the gracious reception in the small and intimate lobby. My room was small and tidy but sophisticated with a fireplace and glass doors leading to the surf of Malibu. My room became my oasis from the large Thanksgiving family I was visiting, and every morning was a relaxed delight, pampering in the fully equipped bathroom, turning on the fireplace, reading the complimentary newspaper at my front door. The only distracting element was the traffic noise from PCH , which I solved by opening my surf side doors for the ocean music. I will return sometime in the future. Thank you.
“Loved the hotel, wish we could have afforded to eat there.”
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location, the service was excellent. Sadly it was very expensive to eat in the hotel so we had to find alternatives outside the hotel. We were also surprised that although bottles of Orangina were left out, not even close to the mini bar, suggesting that they were complementary, were in fact billed to the room, $6.00 each for a small bottle !
“Beautful waterfront location”
This is a beautiful hotel, located right on Malibu Beach. The Pacific Coast Highway location itself is an unusual combination of modest apartment buildings and million dollar homes all scrunched right next to each other on this very expensive real estate.The staff was very accommodating and responsive, Our room had a king bed and "partial ocean view" with a gas fireplace. We could see Malibu Pier and some ocean. The furnishings are sleek and modern, and the bathroom is well appointed. We found the restaurant to have pretty good but pricey food, and service a bit "leisurely." The outdoor terrace is fantastic, overlooking the beach. Our only real complaint was that at the end of the building (where we were) the noise from the highway was significant. The majority of the hotel is set back further from the road, closer to the water, and the sound of the ocean blocks out some of the sounds of the cars. Our room was well-insulated, and it never disturbed our sleep, but one could not keep the sliding door to the balcony open because of the traffic noise. Be aware that on Sunday, motorcyclists take to the Pacific Coast Highway in swarms, and, especially if you are in the wing of the building closer to the road, you will hear them loud and clear, and constant.
“Beautiful View of Pacific Ocean in Malibu”
Ocean view was fantastic from room and balcony. Beach was immediately accessible from short walk to lobby. Staff set up comfortable chairs and umbrella with a great ocean view and plenty of sunshine. Complementary breakfast was healthy and quick. After leaving I realized I'd forgotten some clothing in the hotel room. Staff were very helpful in locating the clothing and said they would mail it to me asap. I would only reccommend that valet parking be optional. I would rather know I have my car key and have immediate access to my vehicle. I'd also rather not have to pay the daily valet parking fee.
“Will Make This a Recurring Destination”
The Malibu Beach Inn did an excellent job in every aspect of my stay...clean, stylish, comfortable and above-par customer service from the exceptional front desk staff, to the restaurant staff and even the valet. I stayed one night at Shutters On the Beach the night before I changed to the Malibu Beach Inn for half the price and the latter beat the former hands over fist in all aspects of my stay. I recommend this hotel 100%.
