“Not worth it”
Let me save you . This place needs repairs and has micro TV's. Even if your desperate, find a better place.
“Holes and mold”
The walls had smears of an unknown substance, the 2 foot by 2 foot shower had mold on the tiles and rust around the drain , no shower curtain, no towels, no soap, the sink was cracked and stained, there was hole 3 inch diameter next to the sink. near the floor, appeared to be chewed through, the light bulb was bare with paint peeled back aroung it, a sign above the toilet said you couldn't flush toilet paper. The smoke detector was ripped from the ceiling and wires were hanging. There was 1 foot of space around the bed, 3 foot and the end, the floor was tile. Molding missing, exposing cracked and dirty sheet rock around the tile. One whole wall was a dirty grimy sliding glass door. Parking lot was crumbing and had 2 foot pot holes.
“sleepless in Santa Monica”
Location is every thing in realestate, but I would drive a little further than stay at this hotel. It's just not worth the money.
“Only for the Desperate”
The motel was much more primitive than I expected. Another reviewer described it as "funky". I would be more likely to use the word "fleabag." It did have wifi, but no night tables or lamps and no desk. Hot water was problematic. Sheets and towels were not changed unless specifically requested. Only a 60-watt bulb in the overhead (the only) light. (I bought my own bulbs in order to see to read.) All in all, I would not recommend this place. Straight out of the 50s and NOT updated since! The hotel staff were very pleasant, but that did not make up for the austere conditions. Stay here only if desperate to be in Santa Monica and very low on funds. Cheapness is about the only thing that this place has going for it! Bring your own lightbulbs!
“Great on a budget”
Super old era style funky 50's hotel set in great neighborhood for the budget minded traveler. We were there for a show at McCabes guitar store so no need for frills. Beach and shopping are within reasonable access, owner very sweet and kind. Lot's of world travelers needing to be cost conscious. Safe, clean but funky. Well monitored and no sleaze. Basic needs met if you only need a place to shower and sleep. Would go back.
“I was not impressed with the hotel and do not recommend anybody else stay there.”
It was not a good Hotel. They had a lot of homeless people staying there and the door would not close shut. Not a good experience.
“The worst hotel i have ever been to.”
The room was disgusting. The dressing was old, dirty, chipped paint. The door bolt didnt lock and barely shut. The bathroom window didnt shut. The bathroom was awful. Dirty shower, toilet, and sink. The sheets were dirty on the bed and they looked very old. The place should be shut down.
“overpriced, avoid unless you need this location”
The hotel is located in a quiet area of center of Santa Monica. Everything in the room was very old and cheap. Very bad beds, tiny TV, no tables, no coffee, no phone, no shampoo, etc. The owners are nice friendly people, but a bit too careful with money. To us it looked like they were trying to squeeze out of hotel as much as possible and invest as little as possible. I will not stay there again. It is worth paying a bit more or drive a few miles outside of Santa Monica.
“Horrible”
Bad experience horrible
“Stay away from this motel.”
It´s in a good neighborhood but the place is not clean and appear not a safety place. Don't stay there.
