Third time's a charm, sometimes:-)

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: The location to our venue, the spaciousness of the rooms, the breakfast was NOT a Continental Breakfast, close proximity to good restaurants.
Cons: Uodate some of the funrishings.Ensure ALL fixtures are fully operational and return to the breakfast menu pre-2010.
Location: Obvious: Rose Parade, Rose Bowl, within 30-40 min. from almost everything in the L.A. Basin.
The breakfast in the past two visits was a little more bountiful (more menu options) and we almost had to take a tub bath, because the shower selector was stuck. Then we left it in the shower position, so nobody can opt to take a bath.... The furnishings still look very dated-like the chairs might have been used in the room in the 20ieth century and during Watergate no less. But, the flat screen TV was a big improvement over the 27 inch "tube set" the previous two times. Lastly, there was a consistent noise coming from the refrigerator-the only way to eliminate it: unplug the fridge. However, I'll be back- our church has periodic seminars for the Southern California ministerial staff-it's too hard to commute back and forth both on Sat and Sun from Oceanside/No. San Diego Co.

Cigarrette Smoke

Posted Jan 22, 2015
Cons: Non-smoking means no smoking. Also many of the electrical items were not plugged in when I got in the room .
Non-smokiing room however, smoke crept in from either people smoking in the hallway or on the sidewalk below. Not very pleasant.

Ok hotel in a nice neighborhood & location

Posted Jan 1, 2015
Pros: - lots of free parking in front, and also at back which couldn't be seen on google map
Cons: - heating unit could use an upgrade - had a burnt smell initially, and takes a while to heat up the room
Location: - very safe, and great location - short drive to Universal Studios, downtown
- Room is clean enough - staff very nice and helpful - coin laundry facility could use an upgrade - free breakfast is simple with toast, milk, etc. Ok, but don't expect much. - ok hotel if you want to save some money

It is what it is.

Old world charm? No. The building is old but well kept. It's definitely not a hotel you can enjoy a vacation in but from a utilitarian point of view, it does what it's supposed to do: provide you with a night's rest.

Comfortable place to stay!

Posted Dec 3, 2014
Pros: The lobby staff was so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast in the lobby both mornings. Good coffee and a variety of breads and cereals.
I was pleased to learn they had laundry facilities. It came in handy for washing soccer uniforms during a 3 day tournament.

Disappointing

Posted Dec 1, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Breakfast, housekeeping
Location: Colorado Blvd, close to lots of shops and restaurants
Not up to the standard I would expect from a Ramada. Poor housekeeping service, coffee supplies not refilled, washcloths not included with clean towels. When I called the desk and asked for washcloths, a guy came with an armful of towels but said there were none of " those small ones" and gave me "a middle sized one" which turned out to be a bath mat. Does seem a housekeeping person should know the difference between a washcloth and a bath mat.

nice stay

Posted Nov 27, 2014
I was looking for a place to stay 30 minutes before mid night. Not the cheapest for the same category of hotel, but was not bad for the stay. They only had 2 queen bed room left, but still very large even there are 2 beds there. Bathroom was clean. Carpet is a little dirty, but is fine with shoes on. There is also a 24 hour VONS store just one block away, nice if you need get something last minute.

Not enough parking. Hotel staff very rude.

Posted Nov 25, 2014
I am handicapped. I parked in the handicapped parking space both nights my fiance and I stayed at the Ramada. Both mornings I came outside to find that there was someone parked in the "No Parking" room next to a handicapped space. The second morning we were trying to leave and a car had parked so close to me that I couldn't fit my thin body through the cars to get to my drivers side door. So I went and asked the Ramada front desk for help and they responded THEY DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH PARKING SPACES FOR THE ROOMS. So they allow people to park in the no parking spot next to the handicapped spaces. If I were in a wheel chair I would not have been able to get into my car either morning. Not only is parking there illegal but very annoying. Because of this problem WE WILL NEVER BE STAYING AT ANOTHER RAMADA HOTEL AGAIN. Very rude staff and not enough parking! Do not stay here!
