“Nice quality/price relation, but far from the main attractions”
I stayed there only one night, the last one before going to Arizona, and it was useful as you avoid the main freeways in central LA and all the traffic jams, but I wouldn't recommend it if you are staying in LA and don't have your own vehicle, as it's far from the main attractions and public transport is not really useful. Apart from that, it's a very normal hotel, with all the essentials but nothing else. As we were 2 young guys, it was more than enough.
“All good except continental breakfast and coffee”
Room was spacious, well furnished and appointed. Maids very accomodating. Continental breakfast was quite skimpy and the coffee provided there was poor. A pool or hot tub would have been nice. Elevator to top floor helped a lot. Location OK but a normal business area. Good view of mountains from window. Overall it's a place we would return to on normal occasion though not on a special one.
“Very surprised and happy!”
We needed a one night stay somewhere near Los Angeles, but did not want to spend much money so we decided to try a 2-star hotel. I was actually scared to stay at a 2-star since we've never have before except in Europe. The location is excellent, near lots of places to eat and shops (about 2-3 miles away), on a main street in Pasadena. When we arrived we were pleased with the outside. There was though, a lady with 3 kids, one in a shopping cart who asked us if we had reservations because they where full. Kinda odd... but once inside check in was quick, we went to our room upstairs and the hallway was super clean. We were so surprised of how clean and simple the rooms where. Nothing fancy, no frills, bed was ok, but overall we were very happy. And best of all parking was free! Which is something you dont get anymore, we normally pay 20-30 a night anywhere we stay now.
“close to DooDah Parade”
basic accomodations--downtown location--everything you need to spend the night--comfort OK
“Won't come back”
I got back with my wife late at night, it was between 11 pm to 12 midnight. The hotel seemed that we were the only ones. So we go back to the parking and there were two young adults, with not very good aspect, more like street skaters, bikers. We stayed in our car for a couple minutes, there wasn't anyone to tell them that they couldn't be there. As soon as one of the guys stepped away, we got off the car quickly and went to our room not feeling safe if our car was going to survive the night.I called the front office and they went to check the parking lot and they didn't see anyone. So that was one thing that happen. Then we heard a lot of yelling outside our room. I looked outside through the hole on the door and there were 2 women yelling out their differences. I called front desk. As i called, i heard that as I heard the tone, one of the guys phone was ringing, the guy answered outside our room because I could hear his voice outside our room. He said that he was going to fix it. Then it got quiet but then couple minutes later, they started yelling again. Then two officers showed, and then they left in 20 min. and that's when they stopped yelling.Next morning I tell the guy, who was actually outside our room the night before, that we couldn't sleep and i mentioned that i heard the police outside my door, he said that nothing had happened and that stuff like that happens in other hotels also.
“just ok. nothing special,”
Tightest parking spaces I've ever seen in my life, thankfully I had a rental car.
