“Breakfast sucks”
Breakfast was terrible.
“Good value”
I stayed here while attending a conference at UCLA. Was very pleased with the quality of the building; interior is nicer than one might expect from outside. Plus, they gave me a free upgrade to a suite. The location is great -- near campus and by a number of restaurants. If you're coming fron LAX you can take the FlyAway shuttle, which runs every hour and costs only $10. The place it lets passengers off is just a few blocks away.
“Westwood bargain”
This hotel is very strange, but a definite bargain. This hotel is like a motel in appearance and feel -- a strange clientele and a very funky kind of decor. You feel a little weird there, but once you get into your room, it is very nice. The rooms generally are very large, have mini-kitchens in them (microwave, refrigerators, etc.), comfortable beds, etc. It's just that the decorations are a bit dark and cheap. It is definitely one of the least expensive places you can stay right in Westwood Village. The free continental breakfast is awful, but it's still a great bargain.
“comfort and rest”
Room was wonderful; big clean comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only down side is limited/odd parking situation. I will definitely return there on my next trip to the area..
“Loved our stay!”
At check in, I was initially overwhelmed with all the emphasis about the parking restrictions in the area. They stress that if you park one inch over a certain line you will be towed and fined. They even make you sign disclosure statements about it. Once you get beyond that, you'll find yourself in a nice a little jewel in a fantastic neighborhood. The hotel itself is not overly impressive looking, but did I mention, the locataion is great? There are probably, no exaggeration, at least 20-25 restaurants within a 2 block radius of the place. This includes some very nice, upscale restaurants. If you drive less than 2 miles from the hotel, you'll see the Welcome to Beverly Hills sign, meaning you staying just down the street from hotels costing at least twice as much. Our King room was large and the bed was very comfortable. On our second day, our adult daughter decided she wanted to join us. I asked if we could get a rollaway bed and I was told it was no problem. I couldn't believe how affordable it was. The breakfast room is your standard breads, cereal, juice, coffee and some fruit. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and plan to return.
“Gem in Westwood”
Its not a big brand hotel; no fancy lobby and (gasp) the ice machine is on the first floor only but if you want clean, large room and quiet place close to UCLA and walking distance to everything Westwood this a great place to stay. Reasonably priced (for west LA and free parking). We will stay there again.
“Great location for visiting UCLA”
This hotel was well situated to visit my daughter at UCLA, easy walking distance to campus and near many restaurants. Speaking of which, Noodle World was mediocre and not worth the price, but Trattoria Pomodoro was excellent.
“Parking is at a premium”
The hotel was very nice & clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It is a totally non-smoking hotel but they provide a comfortable little patio right in front where you can smoke and watch people go by. Very little parking so once we got a spot we didn't move. There are plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood within easy walking distance to the hotel. Felt very safe walking around at night. I would stay there again. Just a couple of blocks from UCLA Medical Center.
“If uvwant to stay at Westwood village and close to UCLA , stay at royal palace Westwood hotel”
I stayed for two nights at royal palace hotel and I totally enjoyed my stay, the frontdesk was so helpful and friendly I totally recommend to stay at this hotel If am going again to that area , I will stay here again for sure
“UCLA convenience”
This was a great place to stay while visiting my son at UCLA. It is walking distance to everything in Westwood. Everything was great except I had a little trouble with the wifi one day.
