“Great if you are at an event at the hotel”
It was a clean, nicely run hotel. There is not a lot right round it, if that matters to you. If you have a car, things are much easier.
“Adequate, but expensive”
The hotel could use some touch up maintenance (such as the knockdown on the ceiling, and some of the walls have been beaten up a little). The doorknobs in the stairwell feel like they have never been cleaned. Otherwise the hotel was clean, and in decent condition. I found the meals at the hotel to be quite expensive. Count on $100 bill for 2 entrees with a couple drinks each. The buffet breakfast is $20/person + tip. Initially the hotel did not provide me with free internet access in my room, but when I complained that I had booked the room through Expedia and it said right on my reservation I had internet access, I was initially told it was in the lobby. When I wasn't satisfied with that explanation, the front desk rep talked to her manager who gave me free internet access. It still made me nervous though, when my login page indicated $12.95 had been charged to my room each day. The hotel is in an industrial section very close to the airport. There wasn't much to do or see really close by, not that I had any time to go exploring during my stay.
“hotel”
no complaints.....just don't like paying for parking my car
“very good!!!”
i was extremely happy with my room and all the rest!!! to reccomend!!
“Very Impressed”
Was very Impressed. Warming reception, very helpful, very clean rooms, would stay there again
“Nice convenient place”
I enjoyed my stay. The hotel is convenient to local transportation to several nearby beaches and shopping areas. I would stay there again. Hotel amenities were good and staff was quite helpful. For convenience, extremely close to airport.
“2 Day Stay while visiting the city”
Our stay at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel at LAX was short and sweet. Check in was very quick after a long day of traveling. The restaurant downstairs was our first sticker shock experience in LA, but the food was good. The room was clean and comfortable, not luxurious, but good for the price paid. It was not as updated as I would have expected, but it was good. The rental car place we used (Midway Car Rental - highly recommended) was right next door. That was great. We stayed one night, then walked to get our car, then valet parked the next night. I don't believe we heard planes going over at night. But then again, we were pretty tired. I would suggest this hotel for a good balance of price and comfort.
“4 Words - Avoid At All Costs”
Staff was very arrogant, not at all helpful and no one provides you info. Bathrooms are from the 80s... not clean at all. Tub drain didn't work and staff didn't know anything about it. Someone picked their nose and slapped it no the bed head board... upon complaining to the hotel staff it wasn't taken care of. I stayed there for 5 days and it was still there on my checkout. there is no fridge in the room ($20 would get you an old clunker), no safe to secure your documents and there is no FREE wifi - pay thirteen bucks for every 24 hours. The air conditioner was vintage - I could hear the water dropping though the AC. I could hear the next room folks singing in the bathroom and doing their business. Don't fall for their executive suite... it is not any cleaner. I would give the Hotel 1 star and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. This was my first stay at Sheraton and what a bad experience.
“Great Fall package deal, especially with Expedia's museum entrance bonus ticket”
We took advantage of a very nice discount on a package deal. This hotel has very nice amenities with luxurious details. We enjoyed staying here very much since it would normally be above our budget level. But it is right by the airport. It's not noisy inside, but it's not near the many LA sights and points of interest. Allow plenty of travel time and expect LA traffic to impact getting across town. Also, parking near the airport is at a premium. The hotel charges to park your car. For self parking you are directed to a nearby public airport parking lot with slightly discounted parking fees, but no in-and-out privileges, so you pay every time you come or go. In addition, there was free wifi connection available in the lobby, but a surprisingly high access charge in the room for this day and age. I did like that you could elect to skip maid service and get credit towards their frequent guest program OR for credit with local vendors (there's Starbucks in their lobby). Good for the environment and the pocketbook.
“Nice Hotel!”
This was a great place to stay for the price, VERY well kept up!
