While the front desk staff was super kind and helpful, please BEWARE OF BLACK MOLD in the rooms! The hotel is run down and while they have put new decor in the lobby, there is black mold behind the wallpaper in the rooms, especially near windows. I would expect better from a Marriott property. Please invest money into actually remediating this hotel to safe levels.

All staff members, in all capacity, were very friendly and accommodating. Room and bed were both satisfactory, although not the most comfortable mattresses. Everything worked well and the balcony was nice to sit at night when it cooled off. The balcony could really be given a remodel thou. Had a blow dryer and fridge which is nice. Super close (walking distance) to many convenient things like markets, stores and restaurants

Cool music themed hotel right near Old Pasadena, friendly staff, great vibe, DJ music in cocktail lounge, good food, nice breakfast at their restaurant. Gym had good weights and not crowded at the time.

Stylish hotel with nice artsy touches. Excellent bar with very good Mexican food and an experienced and friendly bartender. Hotel staff were eager to help and friendly. Excellent location close to Old. Pasadena and freeway entrances. Lovely neighborhood. Clean and interesting lobby showing old silent films. The hotel definitely appeals to a hip artsy but not snooty clientele. Very fun place to be on a weekend night. The hotel has been refurbished in a sleek, modern style, but sometimes the room seemed dark with only a couple of lighting fixtures. At the time of our visit, the television system was unusable much of the time due to loss of signal clarity. Much like the way DIRECTV behaves in a windstorm. Also, at the time of our visit, the elevators were not working properly much of the time. Two of the three elevators Were either shut down or having problems. We opened the doors for one of the elevators and a couple came out, who had been trapped in it for over an hour. When we talked to Staff about this, they said the elevators had problems all the time. So take the stairs. So that’s the good and the bad of it.

Uber driver told me that the hotel was previously the Sheraton. I can tell that the hotel is in a rush to reopen after the purchase. There’s pain smells in the lobby and strongly in evelators. The room looks like a room in an inn. Old and outdated. The bathroom is gloomy and dirty. There are stains on the walls in the bathroom. Bed sheets are yellow….I wouldn’t recommend this hotel with the price I paid. I paid $170 per night. And, they oversold the first night of my stay. I didn’t get to stay the first night.

Mediocre experience. Clean and decent bed. Staff was nice, but several issues: water doesn’t quite get hot in the shower, when asked for towels they sent bathmats, the tv signal was wonky. The hotel is just fine. It’s basically a slightly dressed up corporate hotel. If I had to, it’d be fine for another night. But I would look elsewhere.

The front desk person was very friendly and outgoing. Quick checkin. The room was super clean and well maintained. The TV remote didn’t work well. The bartenders were great and made me the best Chocky Martini that I’ve had in a while. The gym was clean. Quick checkout. I highly recommend this hotel. I will stay there again.

Was wonderful. Felt safe and lots of folks walking around. Great coffee always a plus. Wish was more sunshine at pool and a jacuzzi since I went in winter and wanted some warmth but rooms and staff were awesome. Will stay there again

Parking has to be paid $30 not mentioned in the booking. Also the hours of checking in and checking out our incorrect. I was notified by staff a little bit before noon that I had to vacate. My room wasn’t ready due to improper hours posted how to ask staff how to leave, the hotel going towards the Civic Center, which is not implied when checking in maroon faced another hotel, which had loud music on from 9 AM until I left

We have stayed here many times previously when it was the Sheraton & I must say the vibe of Hotel Dena is much better. We ate in the bar one night & I particularly liked the Mahi Tacos. An easy walk to the Paseo with more restaurant options & then a short walk to the heart of Old Town Pasadena. Thank you Hotel Dena, we will be back.
