Ageing and pretty decrepit not to Sheraton stds

Posted Jul 30, 2015
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Wholesale makeover required
Location: universal walk
Old, run town and tired, the hotel needs a major makeover. In room dining is exorbitant in terms of fees. The only saving grace is the staff are great and the location is difficult to beat. Probably not bad in its day

Disappointing Visit

Posted Jul 28, 2015
Pros: personal tried to help me the best they could
Cons: Inspect the rooms make sure that every thing is in working order
Location: Ok
My wife and I stayed at the Sheraton Universal Hotel thinking that it would be nice and pleasant place for a quick get away but when we got to the room #246 we instantly notice that the table that was in front of the love seat was warren to the point that the vinyl or flux leather was peeling and unsightly as well as some foreign object on the wall the television was out of wack so engineering had to come and replace it and the toilet didn't flush properly, it seems to me that house keeping or hotel management hardly ever inspect the room until some one complains, at one time the Sheraton name stood for quality now from my experience it's substandard, if you look at the curtains you can see how dingy they are like they've never been clean since first put up! I didn't pay to stay in a flea bag and if did then I could understand the unsightly room decor but I paid for a place that I thought was nice and comfortable not dingy looking!

It was a pleasant 3 day stay.

Posted Jul 24, 2015
Pros: The room was well furnished and clean. The staff were helpful and accomodating with requests. There was a bar and full service restaurant on site.
Cons: The staffing seems to get overwhelmed with onsite events.
Location: There is not much within walking distance. Universal seems up the service road. You will need a rental car or cab to get around.
I had a corner room with a beautiful night time view. The hotel has the minimal amenities with a restaurant, bar, pool, pool bar and club room. Services are somewhat spartan but accommodating. To get to off site restaurants, clubs or attractions you will need transport. The hotel gets really crowded and busy with wedding parties, conferencing and reunions. These tend to overwhelm staff's ability to process guests needs.

Hotel close to Universal.

Posted Jul 23, 2015
Pros: It was beautiful and clean. As stated previously, was close to the Universal Park.
Cons: Customer relations.
Location: Theme parks.
My mother gave me a gift of this reservation. In doing so, she booked it with her Master Card. I have no credit cards and when checking in the hotel was not going to honor the reservation, that by the way, was pre-paid. I had to leave a cash deposit even though we offered to leave a debit card number with them over the phone. No one there would assist in making this happen. It was rather embarrassing and I felt as though they were apathetic to my situation. I gave them all the cash that I had on me at the time. I now know that I cannot go to this hotel without a credit card or will be alert to asking before I book my next stay.

Close to Universal Studios.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Location: OK
It was not a very good experience after I got to the room. The room was like a oven and it took over 4 hours to get it cooled down to were you did not sweat just setting there. There was no Ice Machine that worked on our floor and there was only 1 ice machine that worked in all 20 floors. There was no vending machine on our floor as the door sign indicated and was told by staff that the vending machine were only on the even floor numbers. So there was no cold drinks available with out going down to the lobby, and with no refrigerator in the room and no microwave in the room I feel that the cost of the room does not justify the lack of amenities.

Lobby is a false pretense for what is in the rooms. For the price expected more only three towels for four registered guest, two wash cloths and no hand towels noir didn't shut properly. Loud hallways b
