Great hotel at Universal StudiosPosted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: The free shuttle from the hotel directly to Universal Studios and the happy hour everyday (weekday) from 5-7 p.m.!
Location: The Sheraton is located right on the grounds of Universal Studios with access to the City Walk and the Universal Studios Park!
My husband and I stayed here for a mini spring break vacation for our first time in LA. It was a great location as it was maybe 5 miles from Hollywood and all the attractions. However I came mainly for Universal studios and the Transformers ride (which is awesome by the way). There was a train station located at the bottom of the hill which was extremely convenient. Overall our stay was fun and the free shuttle from the hotel to the universal studios attractions was great!

Comfortable hotel close to Universal StudiosPosted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: People were very nice, hotel & rooms were comfortable and clean. Beds are super comfortable, like sleeping on a supportive marshmellow - nice linens.
Cons: Clear advertising of available amenities (pool or no pool?) Shuttle to U. Studios says it begins at 9 - didn't come til 9:15 - they should be on time.
Location: Very near Universal Studios, near Hollywood & all that entails.
Overall it was a nice, comfortable hotel, about what I would expect from a Sheraton. It is close to Universal Studios and a better person that me could walk there (It's uphill), but the hotel provides a free shuttle. The food is OK/good but more than I would expect to pay even accounting for it being close to a theme park ($17 for a half pound burger - I would expect it to be super delicious for that price and it was, like I said, OK/good). Also note you have to pay parking fees - check out what the current rate is before agreeing to the hotel. If you stay at another hotel you can still park at the Sheraton or Hilton, pay the same parking fee and use their free shuttle to U.Studios. My biggest beef was that the pool was under construction. They had a little blurb about that on their website but there was at least one other spot where they advertise the pool and make no mention of it being under construction until Memorial weekend, 2014. The staff let me know we could use the Hilton pool but do I really want to trek a block uphill to use a pool when I expected it to be an elevator ride away? Nope - totally a deal breaker in Southern California springtime for me. When I emailed them it afterward they pretty much said, "Oh well, maybe we can make your stay more comfortable next time."

Nice hotel, but pool & hot tub closed w/o warningPosted Apr 15, 2014
Cons: Parking fee included in hotel pricing. Warning if pool / hot tub are to be closed.
Location: Universal Studios is great as always
Nice stay, but expensive parking, pretty small rooms and pool / hot tub closure w/o disclosure.

Close to Universal, rooms need to be updatedPosted Apr 12, 2014
Pros: Walking distance to Universal. Staff was pleasant. Bedding was clean and comfortable.
Cons: Update rooms, get rid of peeling headboards and chairs. We go on vacation to feel pampered, my house has nicer furniture! Not worth the extra money!
Location: Next door to Universal Studios
This hotel is walking distance to Universal, but not worth the extra money. We went low budget on our Disney hotel and splurged for Sheraton Universal considering parking is another $24 and no breakfast included. I asked for a higher room with a view, be careful what you ask for! It was by the elevators and a view of Hollywood hills and freeway noise! The faux leather headboard and chair were peeling to a point of ridiculous. Save your money on parking and go to a hotel a couple miles away, you can park at Universal and still save over $100 per night and get the same quality, and probably get free breakfast as well. Our "splurge" was disappointing, especially because the pool and hot tub were out of service for remodeling, which we also had a view of the empty pool! The actual hotel lobby is nice, but the room was not impressive. Never again for over $200. I knew the pool was out of service, but I figured the room would feel luxurious and make up for it, not at all!! Luckily, beds were comfortable.

Pricey nightly stay for 2 star hotelPosted Apr 12, 2014
Bed covers were dirty Good bed, but sheets had a weird smell, did not take off my socks in the room. Had my daughter also keep her socks on. Nice folks at the front desk, but the hotel as a whole is a bit tired.

Very old needs updated desperatelyPosted Apr 11, 2014
The room smelled musty, the head board was falling apart, the paint on doors was chipped carpet was old. The view from the room looked over an empty pool that is under renovation but I never saw any work being done. The staff was nice. Luckily we were not there but to sleep. Wouldn't recommend. Shocking that a hotel with such a great location would not be cared for and updated.

Close toi Universal studio, very convenientPosted Apr 11, 2014
Overall very good, should indicate there is a shuttle available up in City Walk as there s an incline walk to entrance of hotel if you don't have a car.

Hollywood SheratonPosted Apr 8, 2014
Pros: Location was good
Location: Located near Hollywood tourist attractions, very convenient
The location was perfect for our visit, however, upon our arrrival we were not told that the pool and surrounding area was closed for renovation. When we booked this hotel, we chose it because of the amenties it offered. It was very disappointing to find out that we could not utilize the pool during our stay.

Location is perfect, but poor quality hotel.Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: Location. 5 - 7 minute walk to Universal Studios and Universal City Walk. Free shuttle service to and from Universal City Walk.
Cons: Universal opens at 9am and the first shuttle leaves at 9am. The first shuttle should leave 30 minutes earlier depending on park schedule.
Location: Universal City walk is nearby which there are plenty of things to do.
We chose this hotel because it was the second closest to Universal Studios. Because of its location, the price was higher too. Since we paid more, we expected more but we were wrong. We were disappointed in the quality of the hotel. Parking was $26.50 per day including tax. Internet was $10 per day. These should have been free since the pool was down for construction (which we were unaware of). The front desk did not notify me of the closure either. We saw people in their beach towels which they told us they went swimming at the Hilton next door. Not sure if that was an option that was given. The room was old. Bed was uncomfortable and kept making noise. The bathroom was small, and the sink was extremely tiny. Don't try to blow dry your hair next to it because your might drop it in the sink. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant and the food was also disappointing. Recommend to go to Denny's so you can get better food and pay less. I expected a better experience from Sheraton Hotel, especially one that's close to an amusement park. It felt like we were in a cheap motel.

Pleasant hotel walking distance to Universal.Posted Apr 4, 2014
We stayed two nights while visiting Universal Studios and Hollywood. Perfect location and nice facilities. The pool is currently under construction, so you might check on that if it matters to you. Easy walk to Universal.
