Good location,

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: The location is great, the lobby area is beautiful, and the breakfasts were great.
Cons: Putting a light by the mirror! Fix all the lighting!
Location: Dining, movies, shopping, and metro subway station
The room was clean and pretty quiet. Community bathroom was a bit unnerving (showers in particular). The sink in the room had a mirror but no light-the switch was there but the light socket was replaced by a chincey cover.

Good location in downtown LA.

You get what you pay for. Staff was friendly. No real ammenities or airport shuttle as states on some websites. No air conditioning in rooms, not that we needed it. What I really hated was that our room floor was super filthy and despite having housekeeping servive the floor was not swiped or cleaned at all.

Rooms are small but cozy. Clean and affordable. Neat place to stay. First time and would stay there again. Only regret that the room was hot. They have no AC in the rooms.

Great hotel, awesome location

Pros: The staff, friendly and helpful, the location close to everything and buses that take you everywhere. Hotel organises shuttles.
Cons: More fans, for me it was really hot, but I don't like the heat.
Location: Great shops directly behind the hotel which has luggage, handbags, kids towels and clothes, all dirt cheap. Staples is walking distance.
Let's be frank, this hotel is old (but beautiful) and in a sketchy part of downtown LA. But it is a cheap stay with the friendliest staff ever who go out of their way to help you.We got a deal on expedia for $35 dollars a night which included a double bed and a shared bathroom, we didn't have a problem with this as the bathroom and showers are all accessed by your room key (and we never had to wait) and we weren't in the room much anyway. The rooms are small but the bed is comfortable. The room only has a fan, but if you open the window it creates a really good breeze, there is a free breakfast and free wifi. The area is full of homeless people that ask for a smoke or change, but don't annoy you and wish you a good day if you say no. There is an awesome bag/luggage shop behind the hotel that has dirt cheap stuff, it's highly recomended! Staples is close. All in all I would stay at this hotel again.

Great hotel - not so great location

Posted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: Facilities and staff were very helpful.
Location: Location wasn't great - didn't feel that safe after dark on my own and wasn't told where to or not to go.
Really great hotel, clean, great price, breakfast. Only bad thing is how far it is from a lot of things - 2 hour bus to Santa Monica!!

Terrible Hotel, Great If Your Standards Are Low

Posted Sep 22, 2014
No AC in any of the rooms, sharing a bath and shower was so college days. Horrible old over used mattress. The free breakfast experience was like asking for charity. You get what you pay for! Staff was friendly, near everything.
