Queen with shared bathroom

Posted Apr 4, 2015
Pros: Location and creepy history
Cons: Noise and smell
Location: Bars, Grand Central Market, Little Tokyo
It was a toss up between this and Airbnb for a one night stay in LA, and I'm still not sure I made the right choice. I paid $68.00 for a noisy, smelly room, but at least I had privacy. My room faced inward towards another wing (The building is shaped like an "E"), and the traffic, siren and mechanical noise from what I assume was a generator was quite loud. I suspect a room facing the street would actually be quieter. Don't forget to pack earplugs. The slamming of room and bathroom doors was also annoying, and the room and halls smelled of bug spray. In the end, the creepy history of the former Hotel Cecil was the deciding factor, but I would not stay here again unless I was just in town for a Skid Row bender and guaranteed to pass out every night.

ロサンゼルス旅行なら超便利

Posted Apr 1, 2015

City hostel/hotel

Posted Mar 26, 2015
For the price very convenient, you won't find any other hotel that centrally located, directly in the midst of the café and bar scene. Wonderful. You leave the hotel and you are directly in the midst of life there. Don't be afraid of homeless people and dogs though! For those who seek to find the comfort of a true hotel don't go here, because it's rather a convenient choice for people who want to be close to the LA scene. So some lack of comfort.

ダウンタウンにある移動に便利なホテル

Posted Mar 24, 2015

Disgusting

Posted Mar 24, 2015
The rooms advertised are NOT what they give you. The shower oddly isn't enclosed so when you do shower, it soaks everything and there's a drain in the floor 2 feet from the toilet. No air conditioning! No free parking ($20 a night) The front desk couldn't find our reservation because we booked with Expedia so it took 45 minutes just to get to our room. Just an awful experience.

Ok hotel but in a ruff area.

Posted Mar 20, 2015
To say Los Angeles is usually pretty warm, I was surprised there wasn't any air conditioning! Yes a fan was provided, but that was pointless due to it just blowing out warm air. The cleanliness of the toilet and shower was poor. It had a really foisty smell, but the rest of the room was clean. Also, I'm only 5ft 9 and I had to duck to get my head under the shower head! Needs replacing and put higher! Good bus links around the hotel to places such as the Staples Centre, California science centre & Santa Monica. You can walk about 10 minutes to the subway which takes you to Hollywood Blvd. My recommendation would be to be back in your room before it gets dark! The hotel is only a couple of blocks away from Skid Row so it's quite dangerous to go out when it's dark. LA has a major homeless problem and a majority of them sleep next to the hotel so expect many people begging you when you enter or leave the hotel. Next time I visit LA, I think I would spend that bit more and stay more towards Hollywood.

Nice place.

Nice ammenities. Things like table tennis and a movie room to enjoy in your spare time. The only things was that when somebody in another room would flush their toilet, the shower water would become scalding hot. So you have to be careful and pay attention.

The hotel was decent. The outside and the entrance seem give a better impression than the rooms. Everything was pretty old. Main problem was the shared bathroom and shower.
