“Clean & convenient to cruise port”

In our many travels, we have stayed in better hotels, but this is definately clean & confortable. The continental breakfast was good & it was right across from our cruise ship. Walking distance to a great Mexican restaurant. We would definately stay here again. It is just an older hotel.

“Pre-Cruise Stay”

I stayed here for a couple of nights prior to boarding NCL's The Norwegian Pearl and found it perfect for my pre-cruise stay. It was very convienent to The Port of Los Angeles and there was lots of restaurants that you can walk to. The city of San Pedro itself was very interesting as well just to walk around in. Right across the street is The Los Angeles Maritime Museum that I enjoyed touring. I found the service at the hotel excellent and friendly! The complementary Continental Breakfast was good!

“Not overly impressed”

I booked a non-smoking room with a king size bed. The room spelled of stale cigarette smoke. It seemed worse the following morning. The bathroom was not as cleaned as expected. Hair from the previous occupants still remained. The only good part of my experience was the wonderful clerk at the front desk. Very friendly and prompt to help. Unfortunately, the hotel was over priced for it accommodations and I will not be returning.

“Not The Best Choice But...”

We needed two rooms for our family to attend a funeral service in San Pedro. Check in was tedious, asking for the same info several times. The rooms over looked the harbor, but the traffic noise lead to sleepiness nights. Overall condition of the facility was barely passable. The breakfast choices were good, but no hot chocolate for the kids? Come on... For the price, not a performer.

“Low-end, old and nothing special. Just a place to sleep.”

Don't go here if you're looking to impress your significant other. You'll get a basic room with bare minimum ammenities. The one unexpected bonus was a mini-fridge in the room. Otherwise, expect a clean, but outdated facility. The sheets felt like a burlap potato sack, rather than cotton. The pool area is decent. The proximity to the LA Harbor is nice. Don't expect anything fancy here though.

“A very nice place”

As a local, I may be a little biased, but with all of the places in San Pedro and surrounding areas to choose from I like The Sunrise. It's clean, quiet, convienient, and comfortable, at a fair price. The hotel offers a continental breakfast every morning, which is much more than just coffee and danish. Adjacent to the property there is the Grinder resturant, a coffee shop type with good food and service. Whenever I'm in need of a local hotel in San Pedro, I always choose The Sunrise. Whether I'm moving as was the case this time, or just to take a staycation and get out of the house for a few nights. It's a Very nice place to stay.

“Good place to have a good rest if you are driving”

The neighbourhood is kinda quiet and it feels quite unsafe. Other than that, the hotel has a good policy of locking the main entrance after midnight which gave us a sense of security. It was a comfortable stay nonetheless, with big room and clean towels. Breakfast is not fanciful, just bread, muffin,banana, coffee and tea. Probably instant oat as well.
