“Excellent South Bay Location”
We had a very good experience at the Belamar. The location has excellent proximity to LAX, shopping, mulitiple dining experiences and Manhattan Beach. While the Belamar clearly had a previously life as a roadside motel, the company has transformed it into a moderately priced, retro/hip/cool hotel. With newer, comfortable, furnishings; clean rooms; and professional service, we will return.
“Not really dog friendly and needs updating”
We chose to stay at this hotel because it advertised as dog friendly. The morning after our first night, the front desk told us to keep our dog quiet because they wanted to make sure other customers were happy. We were quite shocked as our dog was not barky and did not howl. He was also not left alone for one sec. What he did was the occasional bark when people were talking in front of our door or when kids ran around, which is a simply dog nature. We were able to stop our pup from barking within the second bark and he would be quiet. The hotel was not ready to accept dogs and clearly cared about human customers more. When we stayed at another hotel, the staff would put all customers with pets nearby and those without at a different part of the building. We felt the staff did not understand where we were coming from, after being told what happened and continuing to tell us they wanted to make sure others were happy( what about us being happy?). Also, for a hotel located in Manhattan beach, the TV was clearly outdated. We actually called ahead to make sure they had the HDTV and was told they do and showed up to see an old boxy 32 inch in our room. You could not read anything from that TV!!! When we were checking out, we inquired about it and was then told "it is a plan in the future". I call this false advertisement. The bed sheets were scratchy, the toilet seat cover was poorly installed(crooked to the side), the hair dryer did not work, and the room smelled funny.
“Lovely place to stay”
My husband and I stayed here for two nights and we both enjoyed this place a lot. The rooms are spacious with nice decor and a cozy atmosphere. The bed was so comfortable and we had no trouble falling asleep. The only downside to this place was the lighting in the room was a little dim. The staff was great and the Valet Parking guys were so helpful and friendly. The location was perfect! Close to nice restaurants, the beach, and shopping. Manhattan Beach is just beautiful and they have plenty to do in the area. Also, only about 20-25 mins from LA. Great place to stay and I hope to be able to go back someday!
“Good, but worn.”
Nice hotel with a few needed upgrades. I've stayed here three times when visiting my daughter at a nearby university. Rooms are spacious and clean. Carpet in hallway needs to be replaced and the scent of the hotel needs to be changed. Always been curious why the room doors weren't hung properly - space on top of door. Also, the toilet seats don't stay up. On the positive side, they have a plate of ding dongs at the front desk.
“Very Nice”
The customer service was absolutely great! The restaurant had great food. Not too far away from all the attractions. The room was reasonable and very comfy and clean. Overral great stay. Very close to the local beaches.
“Great hotel!”
Very pleasant stay, the staff was very friendly. Only stayed one night since I was traveling. There are several areas to dine and shop North of the hotel on Sepulveda. Only minor issue was the parking, it's all valet, I'm used to self-parking for convenience. I would stay here again.
“It was great”
I would stay at the Belamar again
“Wonderful Stay!!!”
Awesome stay
“Restful Weekend”
We had a terrific stay, second Larkspur property we have stayed at (San Francisco was the other) recommend them highly.
“Best hotel at South Bay”
Really nice hotel, friendly staff, quick valet, big marketplace nearby, close to the pier, delicious food at restaurant.
