Handy for Universal but expensivePosted Sep 18, 2014
Positives - Free shuttle to Universal, clean rooms, comfy bed and discounted room rate. Negatives - No fridge in room, Universal Studios tickets more expensive than gate price, drinks very expensive, no breakfast included, no draft beer and slightly "superior" attitude by some staff. Overall would not return based on what we were told about the ticket prices but ignoring that issue it's an OK 3 star option.

Hotel overall pretty goodPosted Sep 18, 2014
Pros: Room was nice, clean & tidy
Cons: Ramp access instead of having to get up stairs to lift (if there is a ramp staff didn't let us know). Staff could be more welcoming, friendly, helpful
Rooms nice, clean & tidy, however not easily accessible with luggage due to stairs. We didn't find the staff overly friendly or helpful, with the exception of the shuttle bus crew. The shuttle bus to Universal Studios was very handy.

Great location! In the middle of everything but still very quiet and private. We had an amazing time at this hotel.

Pleasant surprise!Posted Sep 13, 2014
The last time I was in the hotel was two years ago -2012. And while the hotel was ok you could feel that it was tired in every sense of the word. It was as if the hotel was just waiting to go to sleep and never wake up. Imagine how surprised I was when I was greeted by the same people but this time with a spring in their steps. They had renovated the hotel, the rooms and the restaurant and what a difference that makes.

Great propertyPosted Sep 10, 2014
Pros: Clean, great location, great restaurant and rooms.
Cons: Keep doing what you are doing.
Location: Close to most of where we want to go.
This time we were busy running around and couldn't take full advantage of the great restaurant and pool but still loved the great cleanliness and helpful and friendly staff. Stayed in one of the remodeled rooms. Great job on the design. New beds are fantastic. My wife got the name and I have a feeling I will be buying a new mattress.

Nice hotel and close to Universal StudiosPosted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: Conveniently located near Univeral Studios, pool area and night time movie.
Cons: Bathroom needed some help, especially the toilet.
Location: Universal Studios is less than 2 miles away. A very nice restaurant is on the premises.
We had a nice stay at the Beverly Garland. Hotel is very close to Universal Studios and the shuttle to and from the park was an added bonus. The pool area was very nice and the movie every night at sundown was a really great touch. Our room was nice, bed was very comfortable, and we really enjoyed our time there. A couple of things bothered us. For a higher end hotel we expected a bit nicer grade of toilet paper. One ply toilet paper is sub par when you go to fairly nice hotel. And we continually had trouble with our toilet from the time we arrived. We asked them to fix it once during our stay, they said they fixed it, but it continued to be plugged up until we left. And $19 a night for parking is a bit ridiculous. Other than this we would highly recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel - no notice of $20 dollar parkingPosted Sep 8, 2014
Cons: Warning to drivers for parking rate.
To move luggage between car and room requires either a long walk from across the parking lot, through the lobby and a considerable walk, or $20 a night for parking. This information was not made available in advance. The hotel suggested that residential parking in the are was free. It was also an absurd distance away. Otherwise, a reasonable value.

Nice hotelPosted Sep 8, 2014
Location: I didn't think the location was the best but they offer a shuttle bus to the metro station which is handy.
The hotel was nice but for me it was just OK. I stayed there as part of a road trip and this was out 7th city/hotel and I found some of the motels we stayed in small towns were better. The location is not great and there is not much around so we ended up always eating at the hotel's restaurant (lovely place but we had enough of eating at the same place towards the end). The shuttle bus to Universal Studios and to the Metro is very convenient. Staff helpful and pool area is also nice. No safe in the rooms, but they have some available at reception although I believe these are limited in numbers. All in all a very nice hotel but I think I would have preferred to pay more and stay at a more central location.
