I am not a huge lover of bed and breakfasts as I like plush accommodations but decided that it would be fun during the Christmas holidays to stay in a home. It was decorated for Christmas which was a nice touch. The owners were very nice and the breakfast was great. We arrived after dark and left directly after breakfast so we did not take advantage of the garden or the pool. It is a historic home and probably would be a great adventure to most. The bed was comfortable. It was just a little too cluttered and cutsy for my taste.

Our first B&B stayPosted Jan 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
My wife and I enjoyed a quick one night getaway. It was our first stay at a B&B and we look forward to our next stay.

Nice couples getawayPosted Dec 26, 2012
Great B&B with helpful staff. Nice homey feel and delicious breakfast. It's a historical home so expect some antique fixtures (I.e. separate faucets for hot/cold water). There also is some road noise but none of these things bothered us. We had a great time!

The Bissell House is a place to retreat!Posted Oct 21, 2012 on Hotels.com
Loved everything about it. When I walked in the door...I literally said out loud to myself, "this place makes my heart smile".

Would stay againPosted Oct 31, 2011
Location: There's a Thursday night farmers market on Mission along with lots of trendy shops and places to eat.
House architecture and furnishings are charming. The staff is extremely friendly and the food is delicious. There are several rooms to relax in and the pool and area around it are also nice areas. We were disappointed that the WiFi was spotty and usually didn't work. We went to the public library where we had no trouble connecting to the internet. We'd definitely stay at The Bissell house again and would recommend it to others. It's in an area of other beautiful homes and has a relaxing atmosphere about it.

Great Place!Posted Sep 5, 2010 on Hotels.com
We have stayed at numerous Bed and Brakfast over the years. The Bissel House is our favourite! It is located in a beautiful neighborhood. The house has great history and is in great condition. The staff was nice and helpful. Fantastic breakfast. Loved it!

Not ImpressedPosted May 7, 2009
If you want thick dust on the wood furniture and bathroom fixtures, no stoppers in the sink or bath drain, a bed too high to climb into, stale three-day-old pastries sitting out without refrigeration, and skimpy cold breakfast food, stay here. I saw the hostess when I checked in. No one was there afterward.

not what i had hoped forPosted Mar 31, 2009 on Hotels.com
this b&b was very disorganized. they didn't have a room ready for me upon arrival. in their defense, i had told them i would likely be there between 9-11pm but when i arrived at 8:45, no room. there were dead bees under the table of the room i was in and the water situation was grueling. the breakfasts were average, nothing to write home about but not terrible. one point of irritation to me was a sign on the wall next to the thermostat stated that the AC wasn't to be turned down below 68degrees. i set it to 68degrees, then upon returning from a day out found a post-it note stating that it couldn't be turned down to below 70degrees and the thermostat changed, turned off and the sign on the wall still stated 68degrees. i felt violated that someone would come into the room and micromanage the way i kept the room.
